Yes, Motel 6s can be sparse but you get what you pay for. We stayed at ths location because they allow pets, and we'd been to other local hotels that allow dogs and were not impressed with the other places. We had previously stayed at the Motel 6 North (around the corner), and this one is quieter and recently renovated. For the price (half of most regular hotel rooms), it was a great value. No blow dryers or coffee makers in the room, and no shampoos, etc. but this location was quiet, well-kept, and close to Cal Poly SLO.

Well, it's a motel 6. But, as far as they go, this one has nicer grounds than most with trees all around and a pool in the middle. Nicer than the north one.

Stayed here one night with my wife and our eleven year old while traveling north on the Pacific Coast Highway and we were very happy with our choice. First you cannot beat the $53 price and while I agree about the linens and towels being on the thin side it's exactly what we expected from a Motel 6. Am I complaining. No. A few things we look for in a hotel is comfortable beds, cleanliness, safety and good shower pressure. This motel 6 met each of the criteria. We were extremely satisfied with the two beds between the three of us and found them to be comfortable. The location was easy to find, attractive and the grounds and rooms were very well kept, Front desk was personable and helpful.
