Enjoyed this motel very much. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the pool was nice and clean. Friendly helpful staff.

We stayed one Friday night at the Vagabond and we were pleasantly surprised. The hotel was very quiet all night long and the bed was very comfortable. All in all, a nice stay. I would recommend to anyone.

Try The Vagabond in San Luis Obispo at your own risk! Only stayed because dog sitter backed out. Both outside and inside smelled, carpets not cleaned in years, sofa bed so dirty you were afriad to sit on it! Rude clerk would not honor early check-in promised. If there was any place else in town at the last minute, we would have cancelled and eaten the $260 it cost for two rooms--PLUS an additional $10 for the DOG! One night was sheer hell--it's one large dog kennel, at outrageous prices--and not even a bowl for water!

We stayed here for 1 night in the first week of June 04. During our 3 week trip to America this was the cheapest (less than $60 inc tax) of all the hotels/motels we stayed in and to be honest we were not expecting much at all. However, on our arrival we were pleasantly suprised. The room was a reasonable size, clean, very comfy bed, aircon, and staff were friendly. The free breakfast was not huge (muffins/cakes and fruit) but pleasant enough. Additionally the hotel has a small pool and hot tub.

The only down sides for us were that the carpet was a little frayed around the edges and there was no hairdryer.
