Only stayed 1 night in Santa Barbara and this hotel was in a very good location. Just a few minutes walk to the train station, 5 mins to the main shopping area, and a few mins to the beach/pier.
I was initially concerned the rooms may be too 'fussy' for my liking after veiwing the photo's on the website, but our room was in fact very nicley furnished and decorated. Also included a fridge which was handy. Breakfast of fruit, cereal, pastries etc was very goodand you could eat as much as you like. The hotel is in a nice quiet street, so no concerns about road noise.
We paid $104 (inc taxes) for a queen room (with breakfast) as a late deal (try searching on the hotel website under 'specials'.
I would definitely recommend this hotel, and would stay there again.

The hotel is in a great location a few blocks from the beach and a block from some great neighborhood pubs. We stayed in a room with a whirlpool and it was extremely relaxing. Can't think of anything that could have been improved. We had a fantastic stay. Try Brophy Brothers for some great seafood that is reasonably priced!

If you're looking for an easy going well kept Inn then this is the place for you. The Inn Keeper had fantastic local knowledge. He was aware of the perfect little neighborhood bar to the finest dining experience in the city. If you want to know which beach to surf or what SCUBA dive boat will fit your needs he seemed to have just the right fit for my girlfriend and me.

The Inn was quiet and very comfortable with just enough distance from tourist areas to maintain a feeling like you were actually staying at a friends house in a local neighborhood.

We loved the fireplace and jacuzzi tub!

On a last minute trip to Northern California we stopped in Santa Barbara . It was the Sat after Thanksgiving and we weren't sure if we would find a room since we hadn't made any reservations. We stopped at the Eagle Inn and were pleasantly surprised. Our stay was comfortable and affordable (even on a holiday weekend). The bathroom was very nice with a great shower. We didn't take advantage of the breakfast but would stay here again on our travels. Was close to the water and plenty of restaurants.

“Highly recommended”

Eagle Inn

The beauty of the Eagle Inn is in the fact they only have 23 rooms and have excellent staff. The Eagle Inn has a completely different feel to that of the large hotel chains. Here you feel like you’re at home. The staff are friendly, helpful and are extremely good at making you feel special. The rooms are beautifully decorated and have everything you could wish for. I would recommend getting a room with a whirlpool bath.
I feel the Eagle Inn is in keeping with Santa Barbara as a whole. Namely laid back, classy and with a beautiful appearance. I would highly recommend it.
