My mother, myself and my son stayed for along weekend. We enjoyed our stay. The room was clean and my eight year old enjoyed the pool. The staff was friendly. I cannot believe that the rates have more than tripled for this year.FOR $549 we can stay at the Hilton!!!!
I totally disagree with all the negative reviews on this site. I just got back from a lovey two day stay at the Pacific Crest Inn. I was a little tenative after reading earlier reviews. What I found was a very quaint little family owned inn a block from the beach. My room was clean and quiet. The linens appeared to have been ironed, they were so crisp. The bathroom and shower were spotless and the towels fluffy and white. I emailed the owners a few days before my arrival with a couple of questions about local transportation options and they responded right away with helpful advice. When I told them I would be arriving about 1 p.m., they had my room ready for me and let me check in two hours early. It is very obvious to me that the owner/managers take pride in their property. They do not have much decorating sense but that is forgiveable. There was a phone book in the room. You just had to look for it and the t.v. was adequate for the room size. This is not the Raddison but then, again, it's not supposed to be. The Pacific Crest is what it is and I would not hesitate to make a return visit to this quiet little inn. Public transportation is less than a block away, as is the beach and the zoo is just around the corner. For travelers on a budget, the Pacific Crest is a steal!
Funnily enough looking at the earlier reports before leaving we had no intention of staying here, however as it was late and all the alternatives were full we had little choice.
This is a very pleasant motel that offers few amenities or frills but which is conveniently located both for the centre and the ocean. Whilst I wouldn't necessarily choose to stay for a long vacation if you are driving through as we were its a great value option.
The room was a good size, clean and comfortable and the staff friendly.
Perhaps we were lucky, but I certainly wouldn't rule this one out.
We stayed at the Pacific Crest for a Wednesday and Thursday night and were charged $128 plus tax. We had a double room on the ground floor near the pool. The weekend rate was $199. (ouch!) It is true, there are absolutely no amenities at this motel (unless you consider a TV and an ice bucket amenities) and the motel is very run down. There is mold in the bathrooms, the plaster on the walls is damaged and poorly patched, paint is peeling, the shower head needed to be replaced 5 years ago, rust on the towel holders and the doors are cheap and falling apart. Smoking is not allowed in the rooms, but guests smoke outside on the patio and at 7am in the morning we were awakened to our room stinking of cigarette smoke (and our windows were not open!) The worst part of our stay was that we left our room in the morning (locked) and returned to find some or our clothing missing! The manager was less than helpful. Needless to say, we won’t be staying here again.
