I booked this place after reading the reviews, good and bad on TripAdvisor. Stayed two nights at the weekend and I thought it was pricey, BUT everywhere in Santa Barbara at the weekend was pricey!
The Inn is easy to find and is well located for State Street. It is about 20 to 30 minutes walk to the beach, but there is plenty to see on the way. It is in a quiet area.
We had a room in the main house, with a jacuzzi bath. The room was clean and comfortable, the bed linen is good quality, as is the crockery/cutlery for breakfast and drinks. There were plenty of big towels and we had robes as well. The room had a fireplace, though it was warm when we stayed, so wasn't needed.
The Inn does a "social hour" when wine and nibbles are served and you can meet the other guests. Later cookies are put out for bedtime. Breakfast is served to your room, you have to state the time slot you want for your stay. We found breakfast to be more than adequate, for example french toast ( made with good quality bread) served with cooked apples yogurt and walnuts, together with a bowl of fresh fruit salad and orange juice. Portions were large. Perhaps the downside is not having any choice, though the food is very good.
The innkeeper was very friendly and happy to tell us where to find things in Santa Barbara and places to see.
There is a Hot Tub, you book your time slot, so you get it to yourself. Didn't try the tub as we were too busy exploring Santa Barbara.
We had a good experience at this place and would be happy to recommend it

I stayed at 4 B&Bs in Santa Barbara and The White Jasmine was a huge disappointment. Though located in a beautiful, historic home it was not what we anticipated for a romantic getaway. Our room not particularly clean and the innkeeper was not very friendly. The curtains in our room looked as though they had not been cleaned in a very long time. Same for the furniture. I was also surprised to discover that the only lamp in our room that had light bulbs was not working. It's a small thing, but I shouldn't have to go around the room changing light bulbs to have more light. Also, someone might want to clean off the soap and shampoo dispensers in the bathroom that had hardened from the previous guests' stay. These were big plastic dispensers that had "shampoo" and "bath gel" written with a sharpie on the dispenser. Not what you would expect at this price.

Our breakfast was not particularly good either. It was brought to our room (they don't have a dining room) with brown, opaque plastic lids (like the kind you would find in a hospital) that did not allow the steam to be released making for a very soggy croissant. Overall disappointing.

Upon arriving at the White Jasmine Inn, we were graciously greeted by the Inn Keeper, John. Our check in was fast and easy. The room was exactly as pictured. Clean and pretty. The bed was so comfortable, we didn't want to leave! And in the mornings, a beautifully packed picnic basket with breakfast arrived at our door. We were both very pleased with the whole experience and we will come back again and again. Also, the location was just perfectly set within walking distance to everything. Just a wonderful and relaxing experience.

The price is tough to beat in Santa Barbara. As such, it's a nice place to stay for the price. But the rooms are quite small, decorated like my grandmother did it, and the room-delivered breakfasts were very mediocre. It's a quick walk (<10 minutes) to the main drag of stores and restaurants; but it is a 20-30 minute walk to the beach area/harbor.

I would recommend this to people looking for a relatively bargain-priced place that is well-maintained, clean, and has breakfast included. If you're looking for a "real" B&B, with a nice breakfast and a good place to spend an afternoon relaxing with a book, look elsewhere.

I had client business in Camarillo and spent my last night in Santa Barbara at the White Jasmine Inn - Victorian Suite. I was warmly welcomed both on the phone and upon check-in. The bed was comfortable and the suite sitting area was spacious and I loved using the fireplace in the morning. Breakfast was great. The whole experience made me feel at home. I plan to be back next year.
