I am not a fan of Santa Barbara but we had to stay for one night and I did not want to pay the usual $300+ at a "two night minimum" hotel. We were able to book for just one night for about $100. Overall the room was "okay". There were stains on the carpet, a musty smell in the room and the bathroom window would not close. There was a 3 inch gap and it was extremely windy and cold the night we were there and the cold air kept blowing into the bathroom which in turn would come into our room. I had to jam a towel into the window gap to prevent the cold air from coming in. Continental breakfast was warm coffee, orange juice, banana's, cereal and danishes/muffins/pastry bars which were just "okay". Previous reviewers mentioned a gap underneath the door, but the hotel resolved this problem by putting in rubber moulding under the doors. No cockroaches in my room, thank goodness otherwise I would've left for one of the $300+/night hotels. Bed and pillows seemed a bit worn. For a one night stay, this hotel was "okay". I heard other people in the hotel complaining of not having any hot water in the morning, fortunately I did not have this problem but it seems many other people had.
