My apartment was being tented for termites, so my landlord had to put me and my roommate up for 2 nights in a nearby hotel. We needed a pet-friendly place, as I have a small labrador retriever. Thanks to TripAdvisor's reviews, I was able to point him in the direction of the Travelodge Pico. To book a pet room, I had to call the hotel directly, and they even gave me a AAA discount when I showed up in person.

As for the room, it was just what I expected, based on the reviews here: clean and comfortable. The bathroom was spacious and bright, and the shower had great water pressure.

The middle parking lot was a bit tight, but I had no problem finding a spot right in front of my room both nights. Trader Joe's is literally right next door (on the same side of the street), so I was able to get some dinner and snack items to put in the fridge. The neighborhoods just south and west of the hotel provided great streets for walking my dog.

I would definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a clean, serviceable hotel that is in a safe neighborhood and has easy access to the 10 and 405 freeways.

A very good value. Clean and comfortable. We stayed in 406, a first floor room in the courtyard. The soundproofing is not great, but its OK. Rooms are small but well set-up. We had a Toyota Corrolla and parked easily, but the parking spaces are tight for larger cars. You save on the location. Great for any budget traveler.

I had to come back and write a review. At the last minute I needed to book a night in Santa Monica. The site reviews for this hotel looked good so I booked. It was great! The staff IS very nice and VERY helpful. The hotel room WAS very clean and nice. The hotel IS a great value for the money. We were very pleased. I would absolutely stay here again. The breakfast was more than adequate, the parking is FREE, a big plus in Santa Monica. And the bed was VERY comfortable.
Yep, I'm sold on this Travelodge.

Pico travelodge was fine for what I needed it for - two nights to crash in the Santa Monica area. I guess the price is reflective of the area though as it was double the price I paid for a far superior room in Flagstaff.

The room was fine, with a big TV and microwave. However some cutlery would have been useful to eat my breakfast from neighbouring Trader Joes (which is excellent).

It was clean and I didn't hear any noise from my neighbours apart from a little tuneless singing in the shower!

Someone took my bag to my room which was unexpected in a Travel lodge but nice all the same!

I had a hire car so the distance to the shopping/beach in Santa Monica was ok, but please don't underestimate the distance if you don't have transport - it would be a real shlep on the bus/walking, but hey this is LA, so who doesn't have a car right?!
