“Great Value, Good Location,”

Rooms were decent size, with good features. The kitchenette was a big help for a 4 day stay. Plenty of stores nearby - but the neighborhood is not what I would declare the "safest" for a person on their own. Parking was fine.

I really liked the location, but we had to walk alot to get to the attractions. Pepsi Center and Coors field were long walks but doable. 16th street mall was an easy walk. There is a bus line that runs next to the hotel which can take you south to the light rail or north to 16th street (which can get to you close to Union Station).

Travelocity had a GREAT package deal on this hotel with flight that saved me 1/2 of the best rate I could find anywhere else.

Will stay there again if I return to Denver.

I really liked the place. I like the old building that transformed to a hotel. The room was good...not as good in Scottsboro, AZ, but it was comformable.

The games at Coors Field were cool. With a hour away, you can gamble your life away or climb (with your car/van/SUV) to Pike's Peak.

“Love this location!”

TownePlace Suites Denver Downtown

24 Feb 2008

We have family in Denver and visit several times a year. Whenever we can get their promotional rate, we stay at the TownPlace. It is very conveniently located and a great place to stay. The staff is VERY helpful, rooms are large and comfortable. Kitchen area is more than adequate. Rooms always very clean.

“Thoroughly Serviceable, But Nothing Exciting”

We stayed at this hotel with our toddler and our infant, in one of the two-bedroom suites. We wanted to have a separate room for the toddler to sleep in (he goes to bed so early and still takes naps), and liked the idea of having a kitchenette available. The size of the suite was adequate, but certainly not spacious. If we actually had to live in the suite because we were in the process of moving or something, I definitely would have felt claustrophobic.

The furnishings of the room, again, were not objectionable in any way other than not being very interesting. We have stayed in other TownePlace Suites before, and still found our room at this one to be smaller and with lesser furnishings.

The location of the hotel is convenient as long as you have a car and are willing to park if you are going downtown. Highways are easy to get to and you are central. Starbucks, Jamba Juice, Noodles & Company, and several other local restaurants are within walking distance.

My sister lives in Denver, so we come to see her regularly, and will probably stay here again. It gives us the separate room for the toddler and enough space, parking is free and we can walk to get a cup of coffee or a sandwich. But, again, it is not luxurious or fun in any way -- it is just a basic place to stay with the right configuration for our family and within our price range.

“Not a good first choice but was ok”

TownePlace Suites Denver Downtown

3 Oct 2007

In summary, I would stay at this hotel again if I were in Denver but it would not be my first (or second) choice. Marriott categorizes this hotel as one of its budget lines and it’s alright if you have realistic expectations.

This hotel is built on the façade of an older industrial building. The appearance is attractive but I question the quality of the construction. Although we didn’t hear any noise from the adjoining rooms, which may be due to one them being an office used only in the daytime, when the person above us walked across the room, our room seemed to literally shake.

This hotel is about a mile and a half from downtown, walkable but barely. The hotel location is not in a particularly nice area. The location is somewhat offset by the free parking since a lot of the downtown hotels now charge exorbitant parking fees. There are several modest but good restaurants within a block, and before the neighborhood starts to deteriorate.

The desk staff were pleasant and helpful. The property appears to be reasonable well maintained and managed. The free breakfast was minimalistic and was accurately described as “grab and go” since there is no place to sit in the lobby. You won’t want this breakfast for very many days.

The fitness center is very basic and one of the aerobic machines was broken while I was there. However, hotel guests have membership privileges at a Ballys about four or five miles away which I used twice. The internet worked flawlessly and the room had a comfortable desk chair which I used for about three hours each day.

The rooms are small but have a couch, chair, and a desk. The kitchens are basic and the furnished kitchenware is limited and cheap. The bed, although probably relatively new, has a cheap mattress which was not particularly comfortable and you could hear the springs squeak when you sat on it.
