I spent four nights here as part of a training conference. If you don't need to sleep, take a shower or work at the desk, you should be fine. My room was on the 7th floor near the elevator, and the noise level was akin to trying to sleep under an active roller coaster. One of my classmates had a similar room and insisted on being moved. They came in and moved his bed to the other side of the room, which did not help. I sat in the desk chair only to find the pad completely worn through and bolts rubbing into my legs. I called down and asked for a new chair. They came up and looked at it and came back with towels to cover the seat. The shower temperature would change from freezing to scalding without touching a knob. I could only back out of the water stream and wait for it to change. The flush handle for the toilet was on the wall by the sink-very hard to find. Tiny shelves for toiletries. The elevators were slow and the floor numbers do not light up. It was clean, and the breakfast (included) passable. Stay at the Brown across the street.

This hotel was clearly an apartment building in its prior lifetime. The rooms are large, but dated. If you don't mind finishes from the 1950's then this place is fine for you. It was generally clean. the bed was ok, not great. The showers were very good. The free breakfast is ok - but what do you expect when it is included.

For us, the location of this hotel was very good. I don't think I would stay there again - There are better hotels in this price range in the immediate area.

“Lovely for thrify travel”

Comfort Inn Downtown

14 Jun 2008

We came for a conference and this was the conference hotel. It's a utilitarian place with excellent service, a free breakfast, and free wireless. It's close enough to the theatre complex and arts center plus the convention center to walk if you like a quick stroll. It's close to the 16th street bus that takes you up and down the street.

Rooms are not fancy, but they are clean and largish for Denver. The wireless is free. Far better value and experience than the Brown Palace across the street.

“Very comfortable!”

Comfort Inn Downtown

The Comfort Inn was in a great location with good value for money and comfortable rooms. The breakfast is pretty basic, but includes hot alternatives. The whole hotel is pretty basic, but I felt safe and comfortable during my stay.

“Good location”

The Comfort Inn Downtown is in a great location and is connected to the Brown Palace Hotel - a Denver landmark and prestigious property. The Comfort Inn, however, could use some work. The rooms have been upgraded but the bathrooms have not. They are small and sad. They look like old hospital or institutional bathrooms. Everytime I turned on the tub, brown water spurted out at first and the water temperature in the shower varied dramatically. The linens and bed were nice quality. The complimentary breakfast was a big disappointment: few options, even fewer healthy options, fake maple syrup, fake orange juice, served with paper plates and plastic utensils! Really cheap and not at all environmentally friendly. After the first day, I got my breakfast elsewhere. The lobby is pretty small and awkward and the elevators are truly ancient. The fire department was actually called to help free a trapped passenger while I was staying there - no joke! Being connected to the Brown Palace has its pros and cons. It's nice to be able to pop over there and enjoy their beautiful lobby and great restaurants and service. But it also reminds you how sad the Comfort Inn is. The business center in the hotel was truly pathetic given this hotel must be used frequently by business travelers. It was tiny and could probably only be used by one person at a time. This is one of the cheaper downtown options and I guess you get what you pay for.

  • This TripAdvisor Member:
    • Liked — Proximity to to the Convention Center and other downtown attractions
    • Disliked — The tired, old bathrooms and the cheap, unhealthy and ungreen breakfast service.
