Overall, I had a fairly good experience here, but I think it could have been improved with a better choice of a room (more below).
The first impression of the hotel was positive; it has very attractive landscaping and the lobby is clean and bright. The person at the front desk was friendly and efficient. The room was something of a disappointment, however. The previous evening I had stayed at a new Courtyard by Marriot in Casper, Wyoming, and this one simply didn't measure up to the one in Casper. This hotel is obviously a renovation of a hotel from the 1970's era, so the rooms are slightly small and the bathrooms are not up to the standards of newly-built hotels. Having said that, however, there was nothing wrong with the room; it was clean, well-decorated and comfortable.
I did have one or two complaints, however. I wanted to do some ironing, and could not find any place to plug the iron in. Finally I had to move the couch to plug the iron in - all of the plug-ins are blocked by furniture or the (large) television. In addition, the room was quite dark and a bit noisy. The noise was a function of the hotel's location, since the west side faces busy Quebec Street . If you can, ask for a room facing either into the courtyard or facing east; they should be much quieter. In addition, if I were to stay here again I would ask for a room on the second or third floor, since those rooms should be brighter. Also, the first floor rooms have patio doors to the outside, and I didn't feel entirely comfortable with that despite the good security bars on the doors. Rooms on the second or third floor wouldn't have that problem.
The hot buffet breakfast (extra cost) was very good and extensive, with the normal scrambled eggs and potatoes, cereal, bread and bagels for toast, danishes and coffee. In addition, this one had a good selection of cut-up fresh fruit, yogurt and juices. If you are hungry, it's well worth the money, in my opinion.
Overall, I would certainly stay here again, but only if I could get a courtyard room or a room facing east.
