Got a decent rate on expedia for this hotel. I called a few days beforehand to confirm my reservation, and boy was I glad I did, as the hotel had CANCELLED MY RESERVATION even though I had paid in full in advance. Had to call expedia and the hotel repeatedly before finally getting confirmation that we were good to go. And my friend had called in advance about parking and got the runaround. So needless to we were a bit worried about staying here...

But, once we got there, all was fine. The lobby and hallways are hideously ugly, but our room was nice (if a bit small) and very clean. The bathroom was well-stocked with nice towels and high-quality toiletries. The beds were comfy with lots of pillows. There was an iron, a hairdryer, good closet space, full-length mirrors, and the a/c worked great. And there's a Starbucks in the lobby. The restaurant looked scary though, so we didn't try it.

Our first night there we were walking around and decided we wanted to eat at a certain restaurant we'd read about, but couldn't remember where it was, so we stopped into the Adams Mark to get directions. The concierge there made reservations for us, and gave us a coupon for free appetizers, and was extremely nice, even though he knew we weren't staying there. Now that's service! So that's where I'd stay next time.

The concierge at the Marriott always seemed to be "away", though one did help us with finding out times for the SkyRide shuttle bus back to the airport. And the guys outside were always helpful with getting us cabs for going to clubs/bars at night.

All in all we were satisfied, but would probably stay somewhere else next time.

“Nice Hotel, Great Rooms, Good Service”

The Denver Marriott lives up to the Marriott name with clean rooms that are slightly larger than what you would expect from a typical chain hotel. The Business Center is outrageously priced, but just across the street is a Kinkos with good service that offers more options than the on-site business center.

The hotel is close to the convention center, but certainly not the closest or newest hotel. I enjoyed the quick one-block walk to the sixteenth Street Mall where I was able to walk and do some shopping in between convention appointments.

I'd recommend not eating at the restaurant on the lower level of the hotel. The food was okay, but the restaurant itself is poorly lit. The waitress even served me an individual portion of jelly that I discovered had already been opened and was half empty.

There is a Starbucks located on the main level of the hotel which was only open until 3:00 p.m., which surprised me since the entire hotel was sold-out, and it seems like there might be a need for evening coffee.

Overall, very happy with the Marriott itself, and the staff was service-minded and very helpful whenever needed.

Stayed one night in this hotel, and the only reason was because I got a ridiculous discount because my aunt works for Marriott. I love the beds at the Marriott - the down pillows, comforter and soft mattress are a treat to me. The bellman and valet guys were very nice (and of course that comes at an extra $24 a night). However other than that, and a few free movie channels, there was really nothing special about the room in this hotel. The shower wasn't really that much better than a cheaper place, except for the fact that they have the shower curtain bars that are curved outward giving you a little more space in the shower. The regular rate when I booked was $230 - no way would I ever pay that much for that room! I'd pay that much for a fantastic hotel room. Not for an average one with a great bed.

I was booked at the Marriott City Center two months in advance of traveling. When I arrived, they had given my room to someone attending a large conference (see other review below mine). The only options I was offered was to either accept a smoking room (I am allergic to smoke) or to sleep in a 'parlor' on the 12th floor on a roll-away bed, with no bathroom. It was suggested that I could use the 2nd floor gym bathrooms and showers . . . I ended up walking the halls, and trying to sleep in the downstairs lounge. The positive note to all of this was that they DID manage to get me a room the next afternoon, due to someone checking out of the hotel. But, no real apology or other concession was offered. Very disappointed that there was no follow up for the error. Also, be very aware that the 'valet' parking will run you $24 per day ($20 on Friday/Saturday). But, the hotel IS close to everything downtown.

Stayed here five nights for a conference held both in the hotel and another close-by downtown location. Light-rail station is literally in front of the hotel. Free downtown bus (16th Street pedestrian mall) just two blocks away. Airport shuttles every 15 minutes. Very, very convenient location to get around downtown.

A couple minor things were bothersome (eg, no stir sticks or creamer with the coffee) and HVAC was not terribly effective (room was never cool enough to be comfortable for me until I realized one of the windows opened) but all the staff I interacted with (housekeeping, front desk, luggage) were very friendly. Condition of the room was very good. Very comfortable bed and rooms with one king bed have a wingback chair/ottoman by the window (14th floor, not a bad view, could see the foothills through the skyscrapers) in addition to a small desk/chair. Duvet (rather than blankets) was a little on the warm side until I got the temperature of the room down.
