I can't believe we stayed at the same resort as some of the previous reviewers-all the rooms have a microwave and a freezer, they must be confusing this with someplace else.

We stayed in a 2 BR, 2 BA unit with a hot tub. After a full day of hiking in the national park, the hot tub felt great!! It's not there just for the skiers. We ate in Winter Park a couple nights, did not find it it to be expensive, had dinner and a couple drinks for under $50 with tips.

We have been to this area several times in the last 10 years and have found the MountainSide to be one of the nicest.

I won't come here again, why?

1. The overall environment are too old and too dirty, room are too crowded that I can not even find a place to put my baggage.

2. There were broken liquor bottle in the parking lot that almost make a flat tire of my car

3. I made a call to the front desk asking for the channel number of weather channel in this area. At the beginning, they simply don't know what is "Weather Channel", after a while, they seems to know what it is and tell me it is ch 17. But the fact I found out later is Weather Channel in Granby area is actually ch 42.

Besides, they are no mircowave or freezer in the room, all we got are two bottled water.

I just read a review on Mountainside, which I disagree with. We have been staying at Mountainside for in excess of 15 years now, each year at Mardi Gras. Although the condo's are somewhat "dated", we thoroughly enjoy our stay there and it is like "coming home" for us.The condos are quite spacious and in an excellent location as far as "ski-in/ski-out".
Keep up the good work all of you at Mountainside.

The Mountainside at Silver Creek Inn has multiple rates and packages. Most are obviously set for skiers that just want a place to crash before snow skiing the next day. We stayed at a condo in Mountainside, (we were there for the JVC Jazz Fest in Winter Park) and the room was ok with separated bedroom, two baths, balcony, full kitchen, etc. Plus, it had a four person hot tub just off the bedroom in the room. I can imagine that it would be great during the winter, (ski in/ski out) but not for someone to just chill out during the summer. The bed was a double and old and an innerspring. The water pressure in the showers was very weak, the towels provided have never been touched by softener! The biggest problem though was that the hotel doesn't ask why you are there and separate guests accordingly. We had golfers (4) above us that drank until midnight and got up at 6 a.m. and sounded like a pack of elephants, so we were forced to get up as well. The condos are separated by about 2 1/2 miles from the main lodge where the pool (not worth it...small) and restaurant are located. Personally I think it's too far from the Winter Park activities...but if you are looking to get out of the center of things...this might suit you. Would I stay here again? NO. There are better places in the area. I don't ski...so being close to the ski area isn't a big deal to me. Food in Winter Park or Fraser (another small town in the area) can be rather expensive given the quality. Dinner...dessert...and a small drink..plus tip for two people came to well over $100...and was nothing that couldn't be fixed at home.
