First let say that I did not choose this place and based on other reviews I would have rejected it. However, my brother invited me to join him for two weeks skiing and had already booked the Inn at Silver Creek. The location is not good for experienced skiers, unless you have a car, as the free shuttle bus for Winter Park does not service Granby. There is a ski hill at Granby Ranch with a free shuttle bus from the Inn, but Granby Ranch is a very small hill mainly for families and novice skiers. Certainly not for skiers with more than 80 years ski experience between them! Luckily we managed to find a rental car at a very reasonable cost and this turned our trip into a most enjoyable skiing experience. Granby is only a short distance from Winter Park (20 minutes) and is also an easy drive to Steamboat (1.5 - 2 hours). We found some good 4 day lift ticket deals giving 2 days at Winter Park and 2 days at Steamboat. We each bought two of these deals, giving us 8 days of skiing. We did go to Granby Ranch on 2 days, when we didn't have the rental car and spent the rest of our days at Granby commuting to Winter Park.

As for the Inn. Well I have to say that the place is in need of a complete update, but the rooms we had were clean, comfortable and well suited for our stay. Our rooms comprised a hotel style bedroom/bathroom unit and a joining kitchenette/living room unit which also had a bathroom. A very spacious combination for only 2 people. We made good use of the kitchen, particularly as there are not many restaurant options in Granby. I must mention that the Inn does allow pets and there were two dogs in the room opposite us. Luckily the dogs were well behaved and being a dog owner myself, I had no objection to their presence. Given that it was winter, good heating was a must and our rooms did not disappoint. In fact I had to turn the heating down! I can't comment on the in house restaurant as we didn't eat there. Staff were excellent, helpful and friendly. There are good grocery shopping and takeway food options nearby. I would stay there again as long as I was guaranteed the same rooms and I had a pre booked a rental car.More
