As an exchange guest it appeared we were very low in the pecking order. This was an II exchange. At check-in we were advised that we would only have one day of maid service on Tuesday, never happened. All water was going to be shut off in our wing, on Wednesday, from 08:00 to 12:00, when we left at 14:30 still no water. The carpeting was stained, cobwebs visible, the loft master bedroom has no restroom meaning you have to navigate approximately 17 steps up and down in the dark if you need to go during the night, so we had to sleep on the murphy bed. The 2 best things were it was quiet and the towels were nice.

Room tip: I wouldn't go.

We stayed at the Inn by default for a wedding at the Granby Lodge. All condos were taken at the lodge so we settled for this place since it was only for one night and we would just be sleeping there.
I would rather have just driven back to Winter Park for the night. First of all, it doesn't matter what room number you choose to book from the pictures online. They will just give you whatever room they want to. The one I chose had a flat screen tv, wood log like walls, and a leather sofa and chair. The room they gave us was none of the above. The sofa and chair were cloth circa 1985. The bathroom looked like something out of the Brady bunch house. The small tube tv wasn't even worth having on.
But regardless of the appearance, we had to leave the light on in the corner all night to attract the gnat and fly infestation in the room so they wouldn't bother us while sleeping. It was disgusting. When I told the front desk at check out, the young lady just smiled and said that was pretty common on this side of the building. No offer to refund our money or give us a discount for the experience.

Room tip: Regardless of what you pick on the website, you will just be assigned a random room at check in.

I'm sure this place was nice in it's hey day, but now it appears to be quite dated.

This isn't a hotel, per se, but a fractional ownership property that rents out the unused units. It appears that some of the units are quite nice depending on if those who "own" them have updated them. Unfortunately the unit we got (a studio) was not one of those units.

In making the reservation we were required to pay for the entire stay up-front and the reservation process was kind of clunky. The check in process went without issue with friendly staff. We got a studio that had a murphy bed and a fold out couch. It also had a full sized refrigerator, dishwasher and a half-size stove. The furniture in the room was heavy on the wood and looked like it was nice in the 70's. The bathroom was quite dated and in pretty rough shape. The unit did have a fireplace, but you are only allowed to burn the dura-flame logs, no wood burning allowed. The walls were pretty thin and, as we were next to a stairwell, we could hear people walking up and down pretty well and the people upstairs had pretty heavy feet and stayed up late.

The common areas are all in OK shape considering they are dated and could afford to be updated. They did have a family room with games, puzzles and books which was a fun place to hang out with the kids. The pool was pretty nice and seemed to be heated and they had 4 large hot tubs. I'm sure this place is great in the winter, but was pretty quiet in the fall.

We tried to get a late check out (noon instead of 10) and they said absolutely not.

In general it seems hit-and-miss on whether or not you get a remodeled room or not (we've stayed here twice and twice got pretty well worn rooms).

The room itself was pleasant, rustic, and had a fireplace. Unless its a hopping place in the winter, it seems like it used to be quite the place to be. It may be outdated, but if you appreciate older rustic, its for you. Its a large facility but does need TLC. Personally, I enjoyed the room for its atmosphere and it opened up to the back lawn. There is not an A/C unit as the crisp mountain air serves that purpose at night and was cold. Haha. It comes with complimentary coffee(i would suggest bringing your own, as it had a tang for that brand). In the cooler months it does come with a complimentary log for the fireplace.(love it!) This isnt a 5 star resort, but if u need to be in the area and want something besides a boring cookie cutter hotel room, its tolerable for a night or two. The pool is inside but also has a feature to swim to the outside. I wouldnt plan a week long vacation here though.

After reading others' reviews on Tripadvisor, it was clear that the Inn itself is in need of serious updates. However, if you use VRBO, the condos are gorgeous! They are updated, clean, comfortable, and enjoyable. We stayed with family, so we rented both the loft and adjoining room. Everything about it was fantastic. There is a grocery store across the street so you can stock the kitchen and cook for yourself.

We rented a car, so we could drive out to Rocky Mountain National Park, which was definitely worth it. Winter Park is also close by and nice to walk around in the downtown area.

Room tip: use VRBO, I cannot stress this enough!!!!!
