Today is my 64th birthday & after an amazingly delicious breakfast in the small cafe attached to the Conoco Gas Station in San Luis, my husband & I visited the Stations of the Cross Shrine. The hike was fairly easy, but caution visitors to tread carefully as there is loose rock on the paths. The sculptures are beautiful as is the chapel atop the mountain. Some of the plantings were in need of care, but I imagine the time of year played some part in the neglect. We plan to visit the Shrine again. We had to ask for directions to the the access road as there is only a small street sign identifying the turnoff.
