We stayed here in early summer, before the larger crowds arrived for the Jazz fest and other activities.

Our room was large and extremely comfortable: king bed with nice, comfy linens and comfortable pillows, pull-out sofa, chairs, desk, mini-fridge, large armoir w/TV & VCR, 2 large windows. Family was in adjoining room - their room was smaller but lovely & spacious with a king bed and a neat game table (checkerboard w/ game pieces). Bathrooms were wonderful - very spacious and impeccably clean. Ours had a separate tub and large shower, sink with large vanity and drawers (!!), nice amenities, and a door that opened onto a teeny balcony.

Hotel has a game room, which was a nice place to hang out while waiting for everyone to get ready for dinner.

Ask for a room away from the gondola if you're a light sleeper - the gondola runs at different hours, depending on the season.

The breakfast was delicious and fresh. Juice, quiche, wonderful breads (scones, muffins, fruit breads), cereals, yogurt, etc. The leftover breads are placed in the lobby - you can nosh on some later if you need a snack!

The staff is very friendly and accommodating - we all felt quite at home. A local cat often visits the lobby in the evening. The lobby is comfortable and cozy, with a large fireplace.

Parking is free, the lot is small. So, you leave your key with the desk person so that they can move the cars when they need to. You pull up right next to the door by the stairs, so unpacking and packing your car is a breeze.

The location is ideal, right across from the free gondola and within walking distance of many nice restaurants. Actually, you're within walking distance of the entire town, since you probably will not need your vehicle unless you're driving out of town.

We had a great stay and will definitely return.

Just returned from our summer vacation and visited the Hotel Columbia in Telluride.

It was okay - I always check Trip Advisor before I book hotels. I really did not find it to be as great as the reviews I read.

The bed was awful, the pillows squishy and if you like to listen to the sound of the Gondola each night till 12:00am outside your window - well it wasn't my idea of a great nights sleep.

The front desk staff was not all that friendly.

There is a fee for parking. Parking is limited in Telluride.

The restaurant was a bit dusty looking and the complementary continental breakfast was nothing to write home about.

All in all it was okay for a Telluride in town location.

There is a great bed and breakfast next door - The San Sophia. We stayed there on our last visit to Telluride and would recommend it way over the Hotel Columbia if you are considering either.

We just came back from a great ski week in Telluride, and thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to this wonderful resort. The Columbia Hotel offers everything you would want, and we will definitely stay there again next year.

Telluride provides interesting history, excellent preservation, yet an up-to-date infrastructure, a user-friendly atmosphere, perfect skiing, and top-notch apres-ski, including a wide variety of restaurants and shops.

The Hotel Columbia looks and feels like a traditional European, family-run ski lodge. The owners are on-site almost all the time, and are supported by a friendly and well-trained staff. The hotel has a great blend of charm and convenience, including well-appointed rooms, and added extras for the guests.

There is a fitness room, a library, a computer with high-speed internet access, a rooftop spa, ski equipment room, and a great restaurant (breakfasts are included in the room rate).

The location is unbeatable, just two blocks off the main street, and across the street from the (free) gondola. Just before our arrival, they installed wireless high-speed internet throughout the hotel, so bring your network card with your laptop, and you can check your e-mails and surf the net from your room, all at no charge.

As mentioned in a previous review, parking is tight, but they handle this by valet parking your vehicle. The night before we left, they moved our car into the prime position, and cleaned off all the snow. First class service!

The only caution about this hotel is for light sleepers. The management is quite open about the fact that the gondola noise may bother some people before it is shut off at midnight. If this is an issue, simply request a room away from the front of the hotel. You may sacrifice a bit of view, but the noise issue will go away.

top notch new hotel . the room i stayed in was called "superior" and it was in every sense of the word. fireplace, balcony, king bed, large quarters, a very roomy bathroom. it had all the comfort features you could ask for.
ownership is very user friendly and was on the grounds at all times to be sure every thing was right and it was.
a complimentary breakfast of fresh baked "stuff" was warm to the touch since it is baked in the restaurant kitchen that morning.
the hotel is located in town a short walk to main street, on site parking is tight but they work it out.
