We reserved this room through Expedia as non smoking. Apparently Expedia does not care, so the room they reserved for us was supposed to be smoking. Although we came late (after 10pm) the owner of the hotel, Mr Patel, who was attending the reception desk, gave us a room that would be more expensive, but he honored the price from Expedia.
We got a nice quiet room at the end of the hallway. We stayed there 2 days and we will be back.
This is a very clean hotel with all you need, and nothing you do not need.

We travel a lot and this is our first experience with bed bugs. The property itself is in dire need of updating. The current managers are nice, they work hard, they are trying to work with what they have but I am not sure they understand American standards and expectations. We thought Rodeway was a big enough name and would have higher standards. After the first night and about 10 bites we asked for a change of bedding. I guess all they changed were the sheets as there were still bugs on the second night but admittedly far fewer. Proper treatment would have been to change everything and funigate, I guess that wasn't done.

Everything else was just barely "okay". if Ihad to do it over I would not return, nor would I recommend unless a major overhaul and fumigation was undertaken..

I am sorry that you had a less than satisfactory experience. After your review we spent over $10,000 to fumigate the hotel in order to be 100% sure that there were no issues with any pests. We passed every inspection and have ensured that the property has remained pest free. As the owner I take pride in running a superior establishment and I strive to address any issues proactively as I am made aware. I hope you consider giving us another chance in the future and if not I wish you safe travels.

Location was good but. Motel a bit outdated. The room was OK. Fridge was noisy so we ended up turning it off. Bathroom door would not close properly. Major complaint would be the continental breakfast. Coffee and some muffins. No effort made to provide a decent continental breakfast. Providing coffee with powdered mik is something I would get a car repair shop.

First and last time I would stay at a Rodeway Inn.

Room tip: Better motels in the area

We were thrilled to book 3 nights here, we extended to a full week. The owner was so kind and friendly! We commented on the lovely aromas upon entering for check-in and within moments he brought us a bowl of dinner with flat bread to share! Who does that? He and his brother built this motel in 1980 and through the years he has added more greenery that you'll see almost anywhere. There is a private and secure back yard for the kids to exhaust themselves playing. It also contains a hibachi and small weber grill and chairs. Foliage encloses the space and basking is quite safe. They offer a guest laundry on site. The room had a king bed and very functional TV and cable system, a couch with coffee table and the kitchen table also. It has a microwave, coffee maker, refrigerator, with freezer section (loved that) and unexpectedly, a kitchen sink! We quite often bought a frozen dinner at the store just across the freeway to microwave for dinner. We packed our lunches for our trips to all the shoreline villages up to Stonington. Vern had family buried all along this coast and we were able to find a good number of headstones. The beaches are sweet, though the water is cold. The bed was so very comfortable and the carpet was new. The asphalt in the parking lot was fresh. The owner is very proud of his property and works to keep it updated and fresh. The wifi worked perfectly, I highly recommend this property.

As retirees who travel a lot, we found this hotel well located, with large quiet rooms, and very clean. Special mention for amazingly quiet air conditioner during hot July stay. A bit older and perhaps a little worn around the edges, but definitely a step up from other Rodeway properties we've stayed at. Mr. Patel and his family have owned the property for many years and reside there. Quite the garden in the back.
