You'd think the most expensive hotel in Guilford would be tops in other categories as well. This property succeeds in missing the mark. Checking in cost me a good 20 minutes while the clerk tried to find out how to handle a discount coupon (why do they spend money to get you there and then start by aggravating you?). Then, they have that money making scheme of charging $1.50 for a hotel safe with the caveat they will refund it at checkout. They bet the odds you won't take the time. I did and it was another time consumer. The long, black hair in the scrambled eggs at the breakfast buffet didn't help the cause. The room was clean and comfortable, the shower good, most everything else well handled. But it's the little things that make the difference.More
