We were traveling in the northeast visiting relatives and needed a comfortable place to stay that was close to Madison, CT. We also travel with a large lab, Mollie. We discovered this gem that is great for us. In talking with the very helpful manager, Tom Shabbir, I found that they had to redo some renovations due the harsh winter last season. The room we have has a large king bed, wood laminate floors, and tile in kitchen and bath. Great internet access and a wonderful field (in back away from road) for our dog to run. They provide a more than adequate breakfast. Great service and great value for the money.

I am perfectly satisfied with a basic room, but these accommodations were more than lacking. The walls and ceilings have a poorly finished look (many cracks, and evidence of shoddy and hasty workmanship) and the doors are so poorly insulated that they shove a towel under every one. The couch is ripped and the switches on the hair dryer appear to be just for show.

The one thing that saves this place from being a complete and destitute waste of time is the front desk. The manager is more than helpful and friendly. It appears that he is aware of the state of his establishment, and honestly gives it his best shot to make up for that.

Another okay feature is that the bed and bathrooms do appear to be clean.

Bottom line though - if the price was a bit more reasonable compared to the overall quality of the rooms, I would give this hotel an average or very good rating.

There was a large horde some kind of appliance in front our room one day, so maybe improvements are soon to come?

Room tip: In the winter choose a second floor room - the heat comes from the ceiling.

My husband and I had a great sleep 6 nites in a row. It is a small place, but convenient to have 2 rooms and the tv, bathtub, bed, air conditioning were all great. The staff are warm and friendly and the breakfast and coffee very good. The grounds are beautiful. We would recommend it.

originally wanted to stay for 3 nights but cancelled the last 2 after about an hour of being there. First thing we noticed is the hotel room stunk horribly and was deff a smoking room even though we were told it wasnt. The paint was falling off of the ceiling and chipping all over the floor. The wall paper was peeling off of the walls. the green old indoor/outdoor carpet stunk bad and had stains everywhere. the kitchen chairs were old with huge rips in them with stains. The computer desk chair which was a kitchen chair was broken and i almost broke my leg sitting in it. The phone was broken and had no labels on it to check messages. The couch and chair were so bad the maid came by and put blankets on them so we didnt have to sit on stains. The fridge had mold and food splatter on the sides of it. Kitchen cabinet doors were falling off and there was no pots and pans to cook with. Were told we could have 1 pot and 1 pan and 3 plates and glasses for an extra 35 dollars a night. The sheets are very old and did not seem to have been washed as there was human hair and stains on them. there were ants in the bathroom. Overall this hotel was horrible and i have never seen one this bad ever. the pictures and discription on the website are totally different from what this hotel is actually like. I would have gladly paid an extra 30-40 a night to stay somewhere else. Were at the days inn now and to give you an example the days inn is 100% better. DO NOT STAY THERE!!
