I was in CT for a wedding on the water and I was craving a lobster roll for lunch. I saw how the reviews for this restaurant were quite good so I looked over the $19 price tag and got a table outside with my mom. $19 is expensive for a lobster roll so my expectations were high. I live in New York City where I can get a generous lobster roll, a mountain of fries, cole slaw and a homemade pickle for $17.
My mom and I both ordered a "Connecticut" style roll and paid $1.75 extra for fries. Upon arrival I saw that the sad little pile of skinny fries didn't justify the additional charge. The roll was soft, soggy, and there was a very small amount of lobster without much seasoning. It was impossible to pick up and required a fork/knife. The coleslaw is jicama.... a nice idea.... but was too sweet and lacked acid.
The service was fine and the view was great. I hope the rest of the food is better than the lobster roll.
