Being an avid fan of Priceline, I won the bid @ 90.00 for the Boca Bridge hotel. As soon as I won, I came here to read about it and was prepping myself for a bad experience.....Au contraire!!!
This hotel is great...albeit a bit dated and needs some revamping, and the bathroom is a bit of a tight squeeze ( there is a sepearte vanity area) the location is perfect, across the street from the Beach...in a clean, SAFE, quiet neighborhood. Boca is a prestigious location to live and the hotel is smack dab in the middle of it. Keep in mind all other hotels in Boca are far away from the beach…this is the only one where you just need to cross the street to see the ocean…the others you need to cross about 30 blocks. Restaurants are only a few minutes drive away....I walked the beach and the A1A route everyday...people were so friendly.
Yes the staff consists of young people, who made my stay as pleasant as possible...I do not understand why the fuss...they were all dressed nicely in ironed shirts while the hotel manager on duty was wearing a tie. I would hate to know that a place of business would discriminate against age [-]. All the staff were very kind...always willing to help and constantly asking me if I am enjoying my stay...leading me to believe that if there was something that they could do to make it more enjoyable, they would certainly try to accommodate.
The restaurant watercolors sits right on the inter-coastal water way where you are able to enjoy either the sun or the shade and watch the boats go by...while the food is not gourmet, it is quite tasty and the menu prices are quite suitable to the full range of travelers. ( I recommend the Ahi tuna)
The pool bar has a bunch of great bartenders…( you have got to have the Mojito) and although I had a small table in my room to work with ( the table was adequate) , I chose to work at the bar…the guys made it easy for me to work and relax since this was a “working vacation”
There is a small pool on site…always warm…very quaint….with a shallow end for the kids.
I had Sunday brunch at Carmen’s….a beautiful restaurant at the top of the hotel…not cheap..but well worth it to have a 360 degree view, of the ocean and the waterway…
All the food was really fabulous.
Hint: If your going to the beach as the valet for chairs and beach towels …he has both.
Use the concierge… set me up with inexpensive scuba trips and the Jet Ski’s are parked right there at the hotel and a discount is available if you eat at watercolors.
Note: There is a charge to park your car in the lot..10.00 per day..
Overall a pretty great stay…if people are complaining about furniture when you have all the beauty outside…and all that activity….we’ll it’s a shame because this hotel was simply perfect for what I had in mind…..and that was not gazing at the dresser in my room.
Good luck!
