Our second stay in 8 months and not our last. The hotels biggest strength is its staff.. something you don't always expect from a corporate identity but SSK is different. Very well managed but still with a personal touch and every part of the hotel running to great yet unobtrusive excellence. In particular the restaurants (not something we would usually use within resort hotels) were very good and competitively priced.. no need to look outside - particularly for breakfast - which was superb! Noted comments about distance to beach which was next to the pool deck... just one small step for man and could not be any nearer.. the 600 yard stroll to the sea over 600 yards of pristine white sand would (for most) be a walk in Paradise. Location is far nicer outside of the somewhat tacky resort center of Clearwater Beach.

We stayed at the Sheraton Sand Key for a week in June 2008. It was a great trip and we really enjoyed the Sheraton. Although the walk to the beach was longer than we expected, it was worth it. The beach was awesome with the white "sugar sand" and the clear blue water of the Gulf was beautiful. The room at the Sheraton was fine - not very big but big enough for our family of 3. The view from our room was gorgeous and we enjoyed watching the sunset over the Gulf. The only negative thing we have to say about the Sheraton was that the pool, although nice, was just too small for the amount of people/kids that were there. Our 10 yr old really enjoyed the pool but on some days (the weekend) it was tough to find enough room to really move around in the pool. Also, the staff was very helpful and service oriented. The hotel had several restaurant choices plus a poolside cafe which had lunch fare that my son loved. It was really convenient since we didn't have to get out of our swim gear just to get lunch. But, it wasn't inexpensive. Overall, we really liked the Sheraton and would highly recommend it to others.

Just returned from Sheraton Sand Key. Can't say enough about the entire staff and management. From the moment we arrived, until we departed, we were treated with respect. The girls at the front desk were very curtious. Don would greet us everyday by our first names and shake my husband's hand. If we needed anything, whether it be dinner reservations or directions, he was there immediately. Housekeeping was prompt as well. The girls were always smiling and willing to get us anything too. The hotel was very clean (inside and out) The biggest downfall, unfortunately, is the noise. Most of the rooms are adjoining. When we first got to our room, we could hear the entire conversation from the next room. It was as if the door between us was open and that we were included in their talk. Within minutes, we were moved to another room that wasn't adjoined. The first night was quiet with the exception of the sliding glass doors opening and closing above us and next to us. We could even hear people leaving their rooms at the end of the hall. The next several nights were awful. A family with three small boys "moved in". They were so loud that we had to call mgt. You could hear them jumping off of the furniture and slamming the closet doors, running and screaming. Mgt was right up to take care of the problem but it continued every night during our entire stay. Would I recommend this hotel? Yes! But take earplugs with you!!!

The Sheraton Sand Key is a wonderful property! From the physical property, which is beautiful, to the friendly employees, you cannot go wrong with this hotel!! We dined in every restaurant and highly recommend the breakfast buffet-it is a great price and selection that you cannot beat locally. The room service as well as restaurant food is also equally wonderful. I had some of the best pasta and my husband, the best cheeseburger that we have ever had!

After a 6 day stay (two adults and one preschooler), the only downfalls that we could come up with were the distance to the ocean is walkable (but quite a distance) and we prefer a hotel that is more in the midst of the area activities. Other than that, we recommend this hotel to anyone and will return again.

As far as local attractions, we greatly enjoyed Pier 60, Captain Memo's Pirate Cruise...well worth the $$ for the kids and adults alike!
