The archaeological park site is open daily 8:00 a.m. until sundown. However, the small museum has limited hours and is NOT open daily so I advise that you call up the museum before taking a trip all the way there. There is a small fee for parking your car on the site.
The site dates from 200 B.C. until A.D. 1400, and the settlers were Native American nomadic people. The site has 5 visible burial mounds which are sealed, there is no entranceway. There are 2 visible Temple mounds. Temple mound A has a staircase and wooden observation deck with a river view.
The small museum houses finds found on the site; this gives one more of an idea of what artifacts were used by the natives.
I strongly advise/recommend all planning to visit the site to have bug spray, this area has a lot of bugs flying around and biting.
