My family and I enjoyed our recent stay at the El Caribe. The hotel room was very clean. We also enjoyed sitting around the pool and relaxing in the sun. It was nice having two different pools (well 3 if you count the kiddie pool). One was more populated than the other so it was nice to have to option to go to the other to relax.

The room was pretty "roomy". There was ample space to walk around the beds and dressers. We also had enough room to put a queen size are mattress on the floor in addition to the two queen beds in the room. The air conditioning was nice and cold!!!

The kitchen was nice--clean, cold fridge and the kitchen was stocked well enough to support our cooking needs. Also, it had a nice dining area to fit 4.

My only complaint is that we had a room near the end of the hotel and it angeled back toward the center of the hotel, so our balcony was like 3-4 feet smaller than others. Also, the way the hotel is set up, you have a limited view of the ocean. I mean, it's still a nice, oceanfront view; however the way the building is designed, limits the view. The building is somewhat of a "U" shape meaning that the ends of the building limit some of the view of the ocean. You would need to request one of those rooms. (I think that some of those rooms in the direct front are the "suites" and cost a lot more.)

If you have the balcony door open and the front door open, watch your fingers because the front door will slam shut because of the air flow!!!

I would rate this hotel 31/2 stars if I had the option. I don't think it's quite 4 stars but it's a little better than average. I did enjoy the stay and will stay there again, however, I will ask that I NOT have one of those "angeled" rooms with a limited balcony.

We had the most wonderful vacation we have ever had in Daytona Beach. We saw the El Caribe Resort during our last visit to Daytona Beach and decided to give them a try.
We looked them up on the Internet and booked our room on line.
Sometimes that can be scary.
Our room was beautiful and had a wonderful view of the beach.
We had our own little balcony and a full kitchen even though we did not ask for one. They just upgraded us because we booked online.
The service from check-in to check out was most professional.
Daily Maid Service not only kept the room spotless but Becky was
almost a friend before we left.
We have found a New vacation home in Daytona Beach.

I would recomend this hotel as being the best in Daytona. the view was absolutely the greatest. The price is also reasonable.

When I made my reservation, the clerk said I would be in one of the direct oceanfront efficiency rooms on the 5th floor (specified the room number). When I checked in, a very rude clerk said they didn't assign rooms in advance and that the direct ocean front efficiency I reserved would not be available. I will say that the room I got was adequate, but that's it. It was back from the ocean and the sea breeze was blocked so the balcony just got the hot air exhaust from the air conditioner. I paid the rate I was quoted for the direct oceanfront room, so I felt like I was ripped off. Had I known I could not get the ocean front room, I might have chosen to stay somewhere else. Bait and switch! The stairwells also smelled of urine. They clearly need a thorough cleaning. Management is attempting to update the motel with new tile in some places and new paint. If you choose to stay here, it will be ok, but know that you may not get the type of room you were promised.
