This hotel, which opened in February, 2006 per hotel staff, is located on a side street across from the Speedway adjacent to a shopping mall. The hotel staff was friendly. Our suite was clean and in excellent condition. Kitchen was nice, with full-size refrigerator, microwave and a few dishes, plus a table for meals. One negative for us was the lack of a door between the sleeping area and the bathroom vanity area. (The tub and toilet were in a separate room.) The early riser definitely bothered the late sleeper. There are a couple of restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. Since we were there on Sunday night, the mall was closed and several low cost meal choices within walking distance in a nearby strip shopping center were closed. The morning breakfast was adequate but did not have as many choices as the Hampton Inn we stayed the night before or other Homewood Suites in other cities. One factor may have been the low occupancy rate in the hotel that night.

We were in Daytona for Biketoberfest. The hotel was convenient to anyplace and everyplace we wanted to be. The entire facility was great from top to bottom. We already knew we liked Homewood Suites hotels and this one didn’t disappoint us. The suite was perfect. Breakfast was fantastic. The staff was friendly and helpful. The Business Center and exercise room were great. This is where we’ll always stay when we’re in Daytona.

If you are not interested in staying right on the beach in Daytona, I highly recomend this hotel. We drove to the beach every day we were there during the off season, and enjoyed our trip very much. The staff was great, and very helpful. The breakfast was very good and plentyful. They told us that they even serve dinner during the week. We checked in late Friday and checked out at noon on Monday, so we missed out on that. The pool was small but clean. Seing how we were the only ones at the pool, it was more than big enough. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. It's loctaed near everything you could need. Excelent hotel!

If you are staying in Daytona (city) and want to avoid the seedy places, then choose the HOMEWOOD SUITES (Daytona Beach Speedway - Airport). This hotel opened in early 2006 and is very nice and super clean.
ROOM: We stayed in the smallest room, the studio suite, but it far exceeded any other standard hotel room we have stayed in. They have a "feel at home theme" and it shows. Each room has a king size bed with lots of pillows, huge TV, desk, updated decor (tropical plants & flower arrangements), pull out couch, and nice kitchen. The kitchen has a full fridge, stove, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, toaster, dishes, and garbage disposal, etc. Our room was next to the elevator and we couldn't hear a thing.
BREAKFAST: The hotel offers a fresh breakfast buffet each morning (7-10 am weekends) with juice/coffee/milk, cereal, bagels/bread, fruit, bacon/sausage, egg patties (not recommended) and make-it-yourself waffles. One morning, we ran a little late to the buffet and the staff brought us items that they had already put away - with a smile. In fact, the entire hotel staff is FRIENDLY which can be rare even in the hospitality industry.
THINGS TO DO: You can see the speedway from the hotel and can easily walk to it or the Mall if you are looking for something to do. Several good restaurants are within walking distance or you can buy groceries and use the kitchen.
OTHER SERVICES: We didn't use the pool or business center, but they looked well-kept. The only potential issue could be parking - they did not seem to have very many spaces. Luckily we were there in off-season, but I'm not sure what it's like on race weekends.
OVERALL: You won't be disappointed in this hotel especially with their reasonable rates ($99 per night in August).
