We felt extremely fortunate to have received a reservation to this property via Price line bid. Just wanted to spend a night on the beach during a visit to the NASCAR experience but after arriving we found the atmosphere and scenery so overwhelming we decided to stay another two nights. Gave my 12 yr old son the option of returning to Orlando & a water park or remaining at The Shores and he choose to stay and play on the marvelous pool deck, relax in the large Jacuzzi, sit fireside at one of the two pool deck fire pits & splash in the surf of the adjacent ocean.
Front desk receptionist, Courtney, was very friendly & helpful and valet, Arnold, was extremely accommodating and went above & beyond to assure we had great customer service. Found the hotel to be a first class, though pricey, experience with a couple of exceptions. They allow smoking on the pool deck and it seemed we repeatedly had to relocate to avoid inhaling cigarette fumes. The other complaint is in regards to the director of operations who I found to be the most conceited, arrogant and un-apologetic hospitality manager I've ever had the misfortune to deal with. Mr. David Smiley is the main reason I didn't rate this property as excellent and he would be the only reason I would consider not returning to this property.
