We stayed at this Hampton for Thanksgiving 2005 and I have to say that it is the best Hampton Inn I have stayed in so far. I am a Hilton Honors member, so I have stayed at numerous Hilton and Hampton Inn locations. This Hampton had the nicest, brightest clean rooms and the king bed was so comfortable, with a nice new down comforter as well. THe whirlpool tub was a fantastic garden tub in the main room where you could still watch TV while soaking. The staff was so pleasant and personable including everyone from the desk to housekeeping and especially at the free breakfast! The breakfast room is also in an excellent location where you can walk thru the doors and eat breakfast poolside if you prefer. We did not use the pool because it was too cool out, but it look very clean and well kept. The location is excellent, right in the heart of the historic downtown fernandina. You are not right at the beach, but it is only a short drive and the parking at the beach is free so no worries. The only bad thing I can say is the parking lot was packed all weekend, but it was a holiday so we expected that. There was plenty of parking open at the lot across the street for the Marina so it all worked out. If you are going to Amelia Island and want great accomodations in a perfect location then the Hampton Inn is well worth the money.

We stayed at this Hampton Inn for a weekend. We had a room with a king sized bed (very comfortable) and a whirlpool. The hotel is located right on the marina. We walked to the shops each night. The breakfast was wonderful many items to choose from. The staff was very friendly. We went on the Amelia River cruise. The cruise lasted about 1 1/2 hours. It was very entertaining. We saw the wild horses on Cumberland Island, Georgia.

My wife, daughter and I stayed there the week of the 4th and found this hotel very nice. It is in a great location (within walking distance of many restaurants and the historic town - however you are about 2-3 miles from the closest beach) and has a great staff. The complimentary breakfast is above average.

After deciding to extend our stay we upgraded to a suite (from a standard room). I would recommend the upgrade. For a little more money you get another room and a kitchen area.

My husband and I stayed here while house hunting for our impending move to Amelia Island. I read all the reviews here prior to choosing a hotel and was not disappointed. The hotel is in a perfect location, walking distance to numerous restaurants, bars, and the harbor. The room was very nice, we had a view of the harbor. We were close to the train track but we were not bothered by the train at all. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel has a business room (complimentary) with internet access. They will also send faxes free of charge. The breakfast was wonderful, lots of choice served in a clean, bright, airy room. Overall, this is a beautiful hotel in a great location for a really good price. We recommend it to all out of towners coming to visit the island.
