Good hotel for the value. Rooms were very clean and we were surprised to have many amenities. Good proximity to the Everglades. The only negative to our stay was not having enough parking spaces near the room entrances, and some people might dislike the small size of the rooms. We found it to be cozy and adequate for a short stay for a good price.

My family stayed at the Comfort Inn during our trip to the Everglades and a week later we found a bed bug in our home. It is difficult to say with certainty that Comfort Inn is a source for bed bugs, but we haven't stayed at any other places, so it remains the #1 suspect.

Upon arrival to Comfort Inn, we were pleasantly surprised how comfortable their beds were and bed linens were fresh and nice. It did not even occure to us to check for bugs on the mattress, though our room overall was not particularly clean...

This Comfort Inn is in a great location for a visit to the Everglades or to/from the Keys.

Our room was a nice size, the beds were comfortable and there was even the convenience of a microwave and fridge in the room.

Very friendly and helpful staff at the front desk, also at breakfast, and even the crotchety old gent they sent to fix my TV was nice (when it turned out, of course, that the TV was not broken. Whoops).

For 2 nights before staying here, we'd been at a swank B&B in Key West, where for $220 we got far worse value than this perfectly pleasant Comfort Inn.

Only negative: there was a moldy smell in the room.

Stayed in Room 405 December 7 and 9, 2007.
Although the room was not cleaned properly, we ended up staying here twice because of the convenient location enroute to Key West one day and the Everglades the next. And we picked the hotel because of favorable reviews on TA: none of the four review titles shown were negative. Also, no cancellations are permitted unless about 24 hours notice is given. Had I dug deeper into the reviews, I would have found some negatives about cleanliness.
When we first checked in on the 7th, the room assigned had broken glass on the floor from a lamp that had apparently been smashed by an angry maid? or someone.
The room we ended up staying in, 405, had not been vacuumed around the edges and there were some mysterious white spots on the carpet. We found a tooth paste cap on the floor of the bathroom and dust around the base of the toilet.. My wife didn't like the smell of cleansor, and a musty smell. The smells didn't bother me though. We wore slippers or socks.
When we checked out on the eighth, I left a burned out light bulb on the floor near the lamp in which it had been inserted. Nearby on the carpet was a white thread. When we checked back in on the 9th, the thread was still there, the bulb was gone, and the lamp socket was empty. Pretty sloppy housekeeping!
In summary, the hotel is not clean, but it is convenient, and reasonably priced for an enroute stop. It was very quiet, being removed from Highway 1 several hundred feet. Bring slippers!
