Disgusting, ants coming out in the kitchen, huge *living* cockroaches in the bathroom, wiggly toilet that’s not even fixed to the floor, dirty stained sinks, … you see the picture. Not a recommendable place.

My friends and my partner and I stayed here pre and post sailing lessons in April. We were granted a late check out when we asked for it the first stay, and an early check in when we came back. The rooms were clean and spacious. The grounds were well kept with a nice pool area and various sitting areas. The location is excellent, being only about two blocks away from the beach and lots of restaurants.
The manager, Sharon, and the other two ladies who work there (whose names I cannot remember) were SUPER friendly and made us feel instantly welcome and at home.
I would recommend Seagate for people looking for great service and good value.

Sea Gate Resort served us perfectly. Me and my girlfriend came for sun and sea. The location was great, only few minutes to the Beach.
Everything worked very well, thou I must say that the rooms need some renovation. But no complains!
The best suprise the was the heated pool. Oh, it was like bird moms baby milk -absolutely loved it!
The proximity of The Gallery Mall was nice, we walked there several times. Although I would recommed having a car because on the beach area there ain't many dining places.
Overall GREAT STAY and would stay there again!
Don't expect too much and you get suprised. If you usually stay at Hilton hotels - stay away from here!
My friend and I spent two nights at the Sea Gate after being turned away from the neighboring Vistamar Villas, where we had a reservation. The Vistamar owner had somehow overbooked and offered to call the Sea Gate to see if they had room. We had spent a week at Vistamar the year before and had returned to Ft. Lauderdale specifically to stay there, so we were disappointed to change hotels.
The Sea Gate turned out to be pretty comparable to Vistamar. Our room at the Sea Gate was larger and cheaper, but also dirtier and more run-down. We liked having our own kitchen and we used the grill to make ourselves dinner by the pool. We were also happy to find the monkeys from the Bonnet House outside our back door in the morning. Overall, I would recommend this place to anyone looking for bare-bones accommodations near the beach.

My husband and I have stayed at the Sea Gate at least 3 times a year for past 8 years. The friendly staff, amenities, beautiful pool and the close proximity to the beach makes this the perfect place for R & R. Sharon the manager and Cindy the housekeeper do their absolute best to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. As a travel professional I have countless options and choose the SeaGate again and again.
