Have you have wanted to escape your life and get away from it all even for just a few days? Not be bothered by anyone and yet have wonderful people to talk to, a beautiful pool to relax in and have someone provide you with breakfast that you can eat by the pool or bring back to your comfortable clean room and just relax? If so, Kira-Mar is the place for you. My husband and I stayed here four days pre-cruise and found this to be the magical place for us. After reading some reviews that said this place was dated, I was a bit concerned but that turned out to be unnecessary.

Nathalie and Reggie are among the friendliest and helpful people we have ever met. Usually, when we stay pre-cruise we stay in one of the high rises, just for convenience and cannot wait to leave. At Kira-Mar it was difficult to leave as the clientele staying there were the nicest people you could ask to be around. All friendly, but not "in your face". We were actually sad to leave Kira-Mar even though we had a wonderful cruise ahead of us.

We look forward to returning and will recommend this to our family and friends for all their needs.

I would really would like to keep this place a secret for ourselves, but with all the hard work that these two property owners do, that would be selfish. They keep the grounds and the rooms spotless and are the nicest people you could meet., and that is why you read that comment on every review.

We were sad upon leaving last Sept '07 as we loved our stay @ Kira-Mar. Very Reasonable Rates, Beautiful property, Nice Suites- Ours had 1 BR, LR, Dining Area (for2) & usable small Kitchen which we used to cook Blueberry Pancakes for breakfast & for Lunch the 22lb. KingFish we caught Deepsea fishing on a charter boat just nearby. It was so enjoyable relaxing on the floats in the pool. Very close to the beach (3-5 min ride). Hotel's location is ideal. Just off Las Olas it was great (and the bed was very comfortable) especially after a night out! Reggie & Nathalie are really great Hosts, they really go the extra mile to accomodate you whether it's check-in/out, Immaculate Rooms, grounds & Pool. I called them last week because the Website said they were all booked & as I was afraid people are starting to discover this hidden gem. To my surprise Nathalie had one opening on our dates so we are going back in two days. Goodbye Cold NYC in winter -Hello KIRA-MAR!! We'll write our next review upon our return.

We stayed at this property for 4 nights after seeing it featured on Tripadvisor. It received great reviews and that motiviated us to book it. We really liked the location as it was near to the beach and to Los Olas Blvd. which had many interesting but expensive restaurants and shops. I was a bit disappointed upon arrival as I had pictured the place as more elegant than it turned out to be. I have to admit that sometimes pictures do not truly represent a property. Kira Mar was "old Florida". The rooms did not have private decks but chairs out on the public balcony. The furnishings in our place had seen better days. I would describe it as cottage like. The floors were laminate which gave it a clean appearance. Our bathroom was extremely retro with pink tiles and bath. We didn't have an electrical outlet in the bathroom. On the plus side, there was a lovely pool area with comfortable chairs and a covered area with a grill and tables and chairs for hanging out or eating. The hosts were friendly and accomodating and the other residents were very friendly. There was a continental breakfast everyday but Sunday near the pool and it was adequate. In closing I would say don't expect too much and you will be extremely satisfied.

My family and I stayed here for a weekend getaway in January. We booked here because of its excellent reviews. What everyone else says is true--it is a small family-run place that is dated but very clean and charming. The courtyard/pool is lovely and there is a big outdoor grill with a table next to it that guests are welcome to use.
Three negative comments (just so you know, doesn't mean not still a very good place):
The owners do all the cleaning of the rooms themselves. They take Sunday off, so there is no room cleaning on Sundays at all. Not even fresh towels. Might want to ask for extra on Saturday.
The breakfast is just packaged cereals and pre-wrapped pastries. There is coffee, milk, and orange juice. No fresh fruit or anything like that.
The air conditioners are window-type units and loud. Even though we thought it was nice enough in January to just open the windows, we could still hear loud hums from our neighbors' units.
