A group of eight of us stayed overnight before embarking on a 15 day cruise on Celebrity Lines" Infinity that sailed from Ft. Lauderdale on April 12, 2008. The accomodations were very nice, and the staff and Vice President Israel Fintz were "super". They showed concern for us and listened and answered our questions promptly. The facility has two restuarants and a bar, so you don't have to leave the premises until you are ready to board the limo for the courtesy ride to the pier. Mr. Fintz went out of his way to get us on the limo and off to the pier and took care of all the others that were lined up for transportation to piers and the airport. We will be seeking a reservation for April 2009 when the eight of us are sailing on another cruise from Ft. Lauderdale.

We stayed here for 2 nights before our Transatlantic cruise and had booked directly through the hotel website.
On arrival at Fort Lauderdale airport we phoned ahead using the courtesy phone in baggage re-claim and only had to wait about 20 mins for the FREE shuttle.

Check in was quick and friendly and we put our names down for the FREE cruise port shuttle . The room we were given overlooked the courtyard and pool and was clean and comfortable, super bed , we slept like logs after our long Transatlantic flight !! The room had a fridge, coffeemaker and microwave and was one of the re-modelled rooms . Work is still on going here to upgrade the blocks.

FREE internet in the lobby in an area on the way to the pool with a polite notice for users to limit to 20 mins so everyone can have a go.

The weather was great for our stay there and we used the heated pool, towels are provided at the front desk.

The sports bar/restaurant had a great menu and ladies drink for FREE on Wednesdays and Fridays albeit in plastic cups!

The hotel provided a FREE continental breakfast which consisted of pastries and doughnuts, tea, coffee and juices. On the weekends a $6.99 buffett is served but we did not require that as we were about to go on a cruise, had to save some calories !!

You may have realised there is a running theme in this review and that is they provide a lot of stuff for FREE.
We paid $166 in total for our 2 nights and would definitely stay there again. The only thing we would change is if we were to stay for more than one night again we would hire a car as there wasn't anything within walking distance.

“So so.... I'm sure you could do worse but....”

Rodeway Inn & Suites Airport/Cruise Port

We stayed here one night following a cruise. The grounds and pool area were attractive. Overall, our stay was adequate but really could have been much better with a few changes. First, they wanted to put us in a second floor room but we are all older, had lots of luggage and there is no elevator. The only ground floor room they had was on the outside of the building, which was okay with us because we rented a car and could park right outside the room. It appeared that these rooms weren't very full and we wondered if they might not be kept quite as well as the inside rooms.

The room itself gets mixed reviews. It was nothing special--older but adequate. The 2 queen beds were actually good, the AC worked fine and the room was clean. It had a fridge and microwave that we didn't use. The only real fatal flaw was the old bathroom--very mildewy smelling and needing a makeover and good cleaning. The mildew smell was strong and one of our party even woke in the night smelling it. There had been repairs that were slapped together but left cruddy areas where tiles didn't fit spaces and bare plaster was showing. The shower was in need of recaulking with black between tiles. It was "surface" clean but I found myself cringing when stepping into the shower. There are so many products now that bleach that out and make the area look so much more attractive. Bathrooms need to look clean or they quickly degenerate to disgusting. The other thing that turned into a negative is the little coffeemaker in the room which I normally really appreciate. But when I started to prepare the coffee, I found an old, damp coffee filter packet left from a previous guest. I dumped it and rinsed the basket but it was just kind of revolting. We just skipped on the room coffee. Once again, I realize that it's just a psychological thing and there's no actual difference between me cleaning out the old one and having it cleaned when we got there, but it just felt kind of nasty.

The hotel had free internet, which was great after spending a week without, and the next day there were several cruise groups that the hotel appeared to have organized and they seemed to have that operation down fine. They had buses going out to the different ships and made a lot of announcements to keep people informed. They even made pages for specific parties who were missing. I was impressed that they seemed to really care about helping people get to their ships. Our only negative experience with the service is that we had asked for a couple extra pillows and had to call 3 times before anyone showed up. I used the laundry which was in the other building and not too handy, but I was happy to have it. There was a free continental breakfast with donuts, muffins, coffee and juice and a full buffet for a fee (don't remember how much it was but it was inexpensive). That part was just fine.

All things being equal, we wouldn't stay here again. That's not an absolute "never again". Just we think we might do better for the same money. Looking back, more was good than bad but we left without much "feel good". Older rooms are still adequate and the staff is friendly and doing a lot well, but the smelly bathrooms were the killer here. They gotta get that right.

WeThank you for the compliment of the beds they are new and we use only Serta mattress and we put extra pillows in every room. We apologize you were put in to a room where the bathroom had not been renovated. I can assure you that we take every precaution to make sure the room is extremely clean every day. We look forward to your return and enjoy our great onsite restaurants & Sports bar & Grill open till 3 am.

“Warning!! Do Not Stay Here”

Rodeway Inn & Suites Airport/Cruise Port

14 Apr 2008

Please heed this warning. This is not Hearsay and our lesson did cost us our deposit.

Beware this Hotel advertised on the internet and did not mention that onlyosme rooms are renovated. If you think it is too good to be true it is becaus it was.

I can say that the two best things that are available at this hotel are 1) the Free Internet so that you can book alternative accomodations through Hot Wire once you see the deplorable conditions of the rooms and 2) the door out of the hotel (dont be afraid to use it).

I can also advise that it is a very inconvenient hotel to find even using GPS.

We had booked this hotel last June for a 3 night stay before our cruise. The prices were a good deal averaging $79 per night over the three nights but once we arrived to be shown the 1960'ish motel rooms we knew it was a mistake.

When we asked to see other rooms we were shown the ones on either side of the one they first showed and nothing that loked even close to being remodelled. Luckily we walked by the free internet and were able to book the Hilton for $50 more per night right there.

We did find out later from others in our party that the hotel would upgrade you if you wanted to pay more but even the renovated rooms were of very low ratings and had a lingering smell. At no time did the front desk advise us of the upgraded alternative and we forfeited our deposit.

Upon trying to cancel the room we were told that the computers were down and they could not process our cancellation. We found out the next day that the night manager was lying in saying he would refund our deposit.

Please do yourselves a favor and do not set your standards so low to use this hotel. I would challenge the mangement of this hotel to deny any of what is stated here. We cancelled on the night of March 26th.

I'm concerned about the list of problems you experienced at our hotel during your recent visit.
Our hotel has gone through a major renovation. All of our bathrooms feature granite tops, Serta pillow top bed, 27” TV with 70 channels digital TV. Yes we do have suites with Jacuzzis and they are an upgrade.

As I recall you had wanted to stay at another hotel where your friends were staying at and because you had booked and paid through a 3rd party web site and they would not refund your money and no hotel controls the ability for them to refund your money. You did not even check in and stay with us.
We look forweard to your return.
Your feedback is invaluable in meeting and exceeding your expectations, and those of our future guests. We encourage guests to contact any member of our staff, or hotel management during your stay should you need additional amenities or if we overlooked anything

This was a very nice hotel, much to my surprise. The name makes it sound like a typical freeway hotel with rooms lined up next to each other in two buildings, but that is not the case at all. The hotel seems to have been re-modeled recently and the rooms were very nice. There is an on-site restaurant and sports bar and free wi-fi in the rooms. I would definitely reccomend this hotel if you need to stay close to the airport.
