We chose this property because it was very close to the beach and it was in our price range for what we wanted to spend. we arrived at Ft Lauderdale airport and stayed two night here before our Carnival Cruise.
We took a taxi from the airport to Best Western Oceanside Inn (about $23.00). The hotel was typical for an older renovated Florida hotel close to the beach. Style was old and if you really looked you could see the layers of paint etc. but for us it was fine. We made our own arrangements direct with the hotel. (Rate was $161.00 for Thursday night and $215.00 for Friday night) The beach was a five minute walk for us. The room had microwave, refrig, safe, hairdryer, iron and ironing board. Everyone from the desk to the housekeepers was wonderful and helpful. The have a free computer in the lobby connected to the internet. They have free Wi-Fi but location is a problem as our room was right across from the Sheraton and we could only pick up their secure network that we could not sign into. We did not bring an Ethernet cable which would have given us the free internet. (we mentioned something when we checked out and were told they would have lent us one - I would bring one if you have your laptop so you can get the free internet easily.) Food is pricey in this area but we ordered pizza delivered the first night and went to the marina (very close by) for dinner the next night. There is a trolley bus and water taxi available at the marina across the street. There was a FULL breakfast in the hotel lobby that was as good as the buffet on the ship and served from 6:30am-10:30am and they were still replenishing the eggs at 9:45am. We really liked this hotel and would definitely stay here again.

We stayed at this hotel several times many years ago and it was wonderful! However when we pulled up this time, we realized how run down it had become. Total disgrace to what it had been 15 years ago!
Toilet wouldn't flush, & then backed up.
Air conditioner was broken. Only one Maintenance man, who also served as the person to help take bags up and down. He couldn't keep up with the demands put on him with other people complaining at the desk that their toilets were backing up also.
We felt very unsafe here.
Breakfast buffet is now "make your own"...used to be prepared by staff and they had the best French Toast anywhere in the world.
Very very poor quality hotel for the money. We checked out immediately and didn't continue our stay there.
This hotel needs to be leveled NOW and rebuilt or else leveled and the property sold to another company that can afford to invest in a quality hotel and staff.

I have been going to the Best Western for 10 years at the same week. I have hever met a more friendly staff. I reccomend this hotel to everyone. If you want to know about anything in the area, talk to Rose in the restaurant.........she is the best. As for hotel management, they are so friendly. Anything you want....it can be arranged

Just got back from my stay at the Best Western Oceanside Inn. Must say, I loved the proximity to the beach. Just a walk past the Sheraton and there you are on the beach--3 minutes tops!!

Room was nice..5th floor overloooking the pool, had a fridge and micro. Staff was very friendly and courteous. No problems there. Front desk was helpful in giving directions. Breakfast buffet was nice..fruit, cereal, toast, eggs, choice of meats, juice, coffee, etc.

The only "negative " thing I can think of is the parking garage. Read other reviews about this and I have to agree. Drove a Dodge Avenger and it was a tight squeeze to park. Just takes a little patience, that's all. Nothing you can really do about it.....

My first time to Fort Lauderdale was a great one; thanks Best Western..will definitely be back and highly recommend it!!
