This is a prime location beautiful hotel right on A1A across from the sandy shores of the ocean and a half block from Las Olas Blvd. It was recently renovated and offers the nicest amenities and services. A large pool deck and bar over look the ocean and we had nightly entertainment on the deck with an inviting view of the cruise ships coming and going from Port Everglades.

Our room was beautifully decorated and had an interactive large flat screen HD TV. They put a lot of $$$ and effort updating this hotel and it shows once you walk through the front doors.

I would recommend this hotel for beach lovers, pre-post cruisers, or anyone wanting to experience the best of Ft. Lauderdale. There's no need for a car, the water taxi is a few blocks away and the trolley runs every 15 minutes to get you around for just 50 cents a ride. Prime outdoor dining and bars are within a block of the hotel if you want to taste something other than what the hotel has to offer.

Our next trip to Lauderdale will include this fine hotel.

Stayed at this hotel for 4 nights over my children's spring break. WE LOVED THIS PLACE!! There were 4 of us: Me, 15 yr old, 5 yr old and 3 yr old (Hubby had to work!). From Check-in to Check-out we had great experiences. We were upgraded to a King Suite with Ocean View.- beautiful!! The sleeper sofa was perfect for my teen and the 5 yr old joined her one night. It was perfect because we got 2 flat screen TVs. This was a life saver with such big age ranges in one room.

Our cleaning lady was tops, the rooms were immaculate. One downside is there is no tub for bubble baths for the little ones. No bother, my 3 year old took his first shower here and he loved it. The shower pressure is perfect and the stall is pretty big.

The mezz had 5 PCs available for use and we never had to wait on line for one. The pool area was cute but the water is freezing. Also, the pool is small. it goes from 4ft to 8ft with a steep drop in the middle. Not a great pool scene for little ones. Much better suited to teens and adults. We spent most of our daytime on the beach.

This stretch of beach was clean, not very crowded and the water was shallow and clear. We rented a car so transportation off the property was never an issue. I took the advice of others here and parked at the lot next door. It is $6 all day and $10 if a resident at the hotel. You dont have to run down at 7am anymore. $10 buys you until 11am. This was perfect for us.

If we went back, we would stay here again. A drive down to South Miami Beach was only 35 minutes. Visited family in Plantation near Sawgrass Mills and that was 30 minutes. Also, downtown near the Riverwalk was just 15 minutes. Take the Water Taxi or River Taxi cruise. This was a great one hour tour on the water.

Thought I already reviewed this here, but I guess not. Stayed 2 nights post cruise using points. I am a Platinum Premier with Marriott.

First they said they would not upgrade me since I was on a reward stay. I said that as a person who spent 220 PAID nights in Marriott brands last year, the company gor ENOUGH money from me for which I earned POINTS to use.

They upgraded me to a king suite. Nice, but I need TWO beds. Found a room for us that was NOT CLEAN! Trash cans full, hairs all over, crumbs and dirt on window sills, and the place opened in November?

They bought us lunch-turkey sandwiches (ick). Finally the room was cleaned and we moved.

Ate dinner one night at Bubba Gumps (not great but not as bad as expected) and at a little German bar in the alley nearby. (Late lunch-BIG chicken sandwich, decent price, lousy apple struedel!)

Can't remember what we did for breakfast. Oh, I took the sun trolley to publix and bought some little boxes of cereal, pastries, etc and got free coffee in the lobby (and then some at 7-11!) The buffet was overpriced and I was sort of sick of Marriott food anyway.

Most of the staff was OK...some were rude though. The music from the pool lasted until 11 PM one nght and we heard every sound. That was rather annoying. Another issue was the pool towels, dirty glasses and dshes, and trash that were left in the pool area for 24 hours. YUCK!

All in all, the place wasn't BAD but could be better. In their defense, one manager gave me back the points, and the GM gave me a significant amount of bonus points....so, I suppose that if I got a good rate I wold return if cruising from FLL again.

By the way, one of the bellman has a side job running a van service. He charges the same amount to the airport as a cab-$19. Thenice thing is there is no meter...so if the drawbridge is up, you don't pay for sitting still.

The views are lovely.....and it is a much better choice than the Renaissance. (That hotel is being remodeled in May).

This hotel was tops. We had an oceanview, corner room. This room was spacious and very clean. The bedding was comfortable. I loved having a little fridge in the room, was very convenient. The housekeeping staff, front desk staff and all other employees were top notch. They really pay attention to detail. The fitness center is nice, too. The pool was a little chilly, but it felt refreshing after being in the direct sun. The pool bar was great. John the bartender was awesome! The door, however going out to the pool area was very TOUGH to open, it really needs to be fixed/changed. The valet parking is very expensive as well. The valet people were very friendly and helpful. Always held the door, smiled, and greeted us and we didn't even use the valet parking!

Great hotel for the price and will stay here again!

CLEVELAND OHIO

Stayed at the Courtyard Fort Lauderdale beach for 2 nights while in town for a concert. When booking the room, requested an ocean view room. Upon arrival, was assigned an intercoastal view room. Informed the VERY POLITE desk clerk of the original booking and quickly was assigned an ocean view room.
First hotel stay that I feel I could have walked bare foot in the rooms as they were so clean!!! It seemed that wherever one went, cleaning staff was everywhere. Excellent addition of the flat screen TV's and granite countertops!! Felt that the hotel should have been rated higher by AAA.
Coffee available 24 hours, nice to take a cup with you to walk along the very clean beach across the street.

MAJOR PROS TO THIS HOTEL
*LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION
*BUBBA GUMPS (GREAT FOOD)
*LOUNGERS AT POOL AND TOWELS
*CLEAN!!!! COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING DIRTY
*GREAT SHOWERHEADS
*COFFEE
*COMFORTABLE BEDS AND PILLOWS

CONS
*NO FAN IN BATHROOM
*POOL IS COLD AND DOES NOT GET MUCH SUN
