I just returned from a stay at the Elysium Resort and have to say I have mixed feelings about my stay. On the one hand, the staff, for the most part, was very nice and tried to be helpful when asked questions abou Ft. Lauderdale, clubs, places to eat, etc. My room was nice and clean and the location was very good and close to the beach. On the other hand, I had no cell phone with me and was counting on have their room phone so I could be contacted. Well, their phone was not working and when I reported it, I was met with sounded like annoyance and was told there was nothing to be done until next Tuesday, because that Monday was Memorial Day. I arrived the previous Thursday and reported the phone not working on Friday. When Tuesday did arrive no one came to see about the phone - I didn't say anything more as I was leaving the next morning. I understand that most places expect that all of their guests have phones with them but mines was not working and not with me. I guess I just felt like they could have made more of an effort regarding the phone, maybe exchanged it with a phone from another room or offered me the use of the phone in their office, anything but the indifference that I felt when I reported the phone not working.
