Based on some of the Trip Advisor reviews we had read about the AmeriSuites, we were a bit apprehensive. However, we were pleasantly surprised. The dumpster at the rear of the hotel was full of old carpet and signalled to us that this hotel is in the process of sprucing up its decor a little. It is certainly convenient to the cruiseport and airport and costs about half as much as the Embassey Suites across the street. The Cafe Del Rio next door is an excellent eatery for those craving tex-mex cuisine. The hotel was completely full on our one pre-cruise night there so predictably, the breakfast room was full and far too busy for our liking, so we cannot rate the breakfast buffet. The hotel's shuttle from the airport was slow but arrived eventually. The shuttle to the cruiseport was far better, especially if one waits until between noon and 1 pm. In short, we found the AmeriSuites entirely satisfactory and believe it provides good pre- or post-cruise accommodation and value.

We stayed here on Feb 9th, 2005. Service was excellent, room was clean and we found staff to be friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was varied and the food was good.
The location was quiet and close to the action.

We would definately stay there again.
