Wow - I can't believe the variety of problems I've had recently at this particular 'Days Inn' property! Typically, I have quite a wonderful experience and no concerns whatsoever with Days Inn. The 'Days Inn Midtown' is certainly an exception and here are some of the issues I experienced from memory:

(1) Upon arrival, the price of the room jumped up to $ 39.00 from the $ 33.75/night I was quoted on their very own website. Because I didn't have my laptop handy I could not prove it, and the folks at the Front Desk couldn't find the $ 33.75 rate anywhere. So, I left and later decided to book through Priceline and received the $ 34/night rate instantly - no problems.

(2) While the 'Days Inn Midtown' advertises "Free Wireless Internet" both on their website and on their 'can't-miss-it' lighted roadside sign out in front of the hotel, the room I was given could not get an Internet signal at all. The next day I was moved to a closer room to get the "Free Wireless" service (which was subject to room availability, of course). Shouldn't any/all rooms come with "Free Internet" if advertised as such?

(3) Although we had initially specified a "Non-Smoking" room, the new room we were moved to absolutely reaked of cigarette smoke. It was difficult to determine the source - whether the smell was coming from inside or outside the room - but it was definately noticeable.

(4) The ambient noise was so loud at night, that we had to call the Front Desk about that too. They indicated that they would be able to move us the next day - but the next day came and no one called to follow-up. So, we went down to talk to the folks at the Front Desk ourselves -- but apparently we were too late. Room re-assignments can only be processed before 12 noon. I couldn't believe it.

(5) And I don't even want to mention how many times Housekeeping knocked on the door early morning with the "Do-not-disturb" sign posted outside.

Needless to say, this has perhaps been the absolute worst Hotel I've ever stayed in bar none -- and I've stayed in quite a few. Although the pool area was well-maintained and clean. If you need to stay overnight in Fort Pierce, there are plenty of choices. Don't make this mistake twice.

“Great Value - Great Room and Super Friendly Staff”

Days Inn Fort Pierce Midtown

14 Sep 2007

I stay in hotels about 150 nights in the year. Yes, I guess that makes me a road-warrior (lol)!! Stayed at this hotel about 5 times in the last year. They have been renovating for quite some time but finished up a few months ago. I usually stay in the courtyard area overlooking the pool. Comfortable room, super clean, absolute best deal in the area as far as $$$ is concerned. First time here I felt I was taking a chance by booking a place with such a low rate, but let me tell you this is one place where you really DO get more than you pay for. I was totally happy with my experience and the staff were great. I will gladly keep coming back here and drive the 3 extra miles from I-95 to save $30 over what the hotels charge out by the interstate. I will be back again in about 3 weeks - they have a new restaurant onsite that will be opening up then so looking forward to checking that out. Save your money and book the Days Inn Midtown, you'll not be disappointed.

    • Disliked — 3 miles off interstate 95. But worth the extra 5 minute drive to save over $30 on Interstate motels.

“not a great get-away”

Days Inn Fort Pierce Midtown

3 Sep 2007

We checked in right at 3 and the staff was very rude. Then they gave us the wrong room. i wanted the one with the microwave and fridge, but instead they gave me the blow dryer. when i asked them for the room i had reserved the tried to give me one with no electric. the bathroom door wouldnt shut, there were ants everywhere, and the pool was hotter than being out of it. overall it was a horrible hotel and i will not be returning EVER again.

When I arrived, workers were painting the sidewalk entrance, so you had to step carefully to get inside. i checked in with no problems until I got to my room and the key card didn't work. got that straightened out. On the dresser, was a review that a couple had written in March that was still sitting there. The blow dryer was broken and when i told the front desk I was told it would be taken care of - NOT. On the plus side, the room had a brand new coffee pot. Free breakfast was ok - but not a huge selling point. I probably won't stay here again. There are lots of other places to stay at on the main road.

“Two types of Hotels this isn't one of them”

Days Inn Fort Pierce Midtown

My company set up a meeting at this place on Tuesday April, 4th. They had half the amount of seating we requested and what they did provide looked and felt like it had been rescued form a landfill somewhere. The staff I spoke to about this problem had the mannerism's of mud. They were very impolite and very rude when asked to help correct the problem. I asked to see a manager and he was not on the property. When a desk employee called him on his cell phone, he informed the emplyee to tell me he would be back shortly, he never showed. I had a chance to ask a person staying here what the rooms were like, he told me I would have to see to believe and he had just seen his room and was leaving. I walked into his room and before returning to my vehilce I removed my shoes and threw them away because I had walked on the floor of the room and didn't want to carry any of the filth away with me. I use trip advisor when traveling and have been given some good information through reviews. If you are in the area and need to rest, I would travel whatever distance needed to find something else or just sleep out under a bridge somewhere.
