Stayed here for a wedding. Resort is very small and intimate. Only stayed for a night, but was impressed with the room, comfy and upscale, large and very attractive bathroom with separate shower and bath. Really liked the arrival, the lobby is just off an inner courtyard where the cars are parked under a port-cochere. Very European styling.

Wedding was outdoors on a patio overlooking the 18th hole which was a nice space. Cocktail hour was in the resort's small restaurant and the party in the ballroom. Food at the function was great and service at the resort excellent. A cot ordered very late at night came within minutes and the beds comfy.

Would love to return and stay longer.

This is our third time at the Diplomat Country Club and it continues to be our choice in South Florida for a 3 or 4 night get away. This time, very particular friends joined us and while they could find fault with all kinds of things, they too were very impressed. It does not feel like a hotel but more like a country club-golf out one door, pool out another, spa out another, tennis out another. The restaurant seems always empty but then again, it only has 60 rooms and people are there for all kinds of reasons. But the food for us along with the room service was very good. Offsite, there are tons of places to eat and lots of activities nearby. The rooms are spacious, beds terrific, service is very accommodating. What is great about this place is that it is quiet, upscale, elegant, casual. Perfect for a 4 day getaway with someone you like a lot. Not for kids--in fact, keep them away, not for people who hang at a bar, just a very pleasant private place. We will be back again.

since we booked thru Hotwire we had no idea what we had gotten until we got there. boy what a wonderful surprise! this is a fabulous property .....especially if you play golf or tennis. beautiful golf course.\
nice, quiet property with a wonderful pool and gardens.

inside is very nice and beds are fantastic. everything was just great.

we did not eat there so I can;t comment on those facilities.

This is wonderful property -- beautifully tranquil and relaxing, especially when compared to the typical Ft Lauderdale and Miami crowded mega-properties that are jammed onto tiny beach areas.

This otherwise great place is spoiled by its incompetent restaurant staff. Some were friendly, some were rude, but none of them have a clue what they were doing. They were painfully slow / we were typically ignored after being seated - we had to virtually trip staff to be noticed / orders were never quite correct / we had to beg for napkins, cutlery, side dishes, etc / dinner service was clueless / etc.

One morning, out of frustration, we just got up and walked out -- and walked to the local Starbucks (off property) for breakfast. We joked that - even allowing time for the long walk to/from - it was probably the fastest breakfast service we had while there!

There's only one restaurant on property, and really none (other than Starbucks) in the immediate area, so you're stuck with the dismal service here - unless you want to drive somewhere or take their shuttle to the sister Westin property.

If the hotel can fix this problem, it truly will be the 5 star "Luxury Collection" property that it claims to be. If not, be warned: you'll leave disappointed and frustrated. (I did.)
