We travelled with our 2 young daughters and really enjoyed our 1 nite stay. We were never made to feel that we weren't welcome with our daughters as is sometimes the case with country club-type atmospheres. On the contrary, upon check-in the staff gave our daughters a westin kid's pack with activities and a hat, and the room service food was just perfect for them.

We loved the pool and met a nice family there. You can access the beach via the shuttle (you can also drive to the property on the beach and use their valet parking for free). We wish we could have stayed 3 nites--very quiet, low-key and relaxing, and we enjoyed the room balcony with views of the golf course. I would have loved to have tried the spa! We were there the same time as the wedding mentionned in another review, and the setting did look beautiful! It would be a very elegant venue for a reception.


There was also a computer, free internet access, printer, fax on a desk right beside the elevator on each floor so it was helpful to print our boarding passes.

I agree with another reviewer regarding the restaurant staff--while our waiter was very good, the young woman seating us had a terrible attitude....apart from her, the rest of the staff were fantastic.

ps. We booked through hotwire and received an excellent rate of less than $130 a nite. Can't wait to go back for a longer visit!

Gorgeous room, firm & comfortable bed, nice décor, fabulous bathroom, great staff, lovely food (breakfast room service, at least).

It’s an oasis in the midst of the cold condo corridor of Hallandale. You can take a shuttle to its sister property on the beach, and watch the waves, but we much preferred the peaceful golf resort and spa property. (The shuttle driver was extremely friendly and helpful.) The golf course is spectacular and has reasonable twilight rates, by the way!

Our only complaints: the patio furniture on our balcony was dirty; everything else was spotless. The pool was gorgeous, but the poolside Jacuzzi wasn't fully functioning. The halls were freezing, but our room (with A/C controls) was very comfortable. Lastly, I went to check out the spa facilities and didn't find the staff overly welcoming; otherwise, hotel staff were great!

Stayed here for a wedding. Resort is very small and intimate. Only stayed for a night, but was impressed with the room, comfy and upscale, large and very attractive bathroom with separate shower and bath. Really liked the arrival, the lobby is just off an inner courtyard where the cars are parked under a port-cochere. Very European styling.

Wedding was outdoors on a patio overlooking the 18th hole which was a nice space. Cocktail hour was in the resort's small restaurant and the party in the ballroom. Food at the function was great and service at the resort excellent. A cot ordered very late at night came within minutes and the beds comfy.

Would love to return and stay longer.

This is our third time at the Diplomat Country Club and it continues to be our choice in South Florida for a 3 or 4 night get away. This time, very particular friends joined us and while they could find fault with all kinds of things, they too were very impressed. It does not feel like a hotel but more like a country club-golf out one door, pool out another, spa out another, tennis out another. The restaurant seems always empty but then again, it only has 60 rooms and people are there for all kinds of reasons. But the food for us along with the room service was very good. Offsite, there are tons of places to eat and lots of activities nearby. The rooms are spacious, beds terrific, service is very accommodating. What is great about this place is that it is quiet, upscale, elegant, casual. Perfect for a 4 day getaway with someone you like a lot. Not for kids--in fact, keep them away, not for people who hang at a bar, just a very pleasant private place. We will be back again.
