If you're looking for one of if not the best place to stay in Largo, this is it. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and very clean. A very nice pool area and a beach, a real beach actually, are equally nice and maintained. While we were there, a storm blew through with some pretty high winds. The grounds were cleaned up just as soon as the weather calmed down. There’s also docking for boats.

The interior, just as nice. The rooms, at least the one we had, are very big, have comfy beds and nicely decorated. They were nicely cleaned everyday and in a timely manner. Any problems, or should I say, wants, were taken care of quickly. Same goes for the halls, elevators, and parking lot all of which were very clean. There’s plenty of on sight parking with most of it under the building. It’s a little tight, but sufficient, so leave the limos home. A good amount of handicap spots and the whole grounds are very accessible by the way. Plenty of elevators, ramps, bridges, and paved areas.

The hotel has it’s own dining areas. One is like a Tiki bar type of atmosphere. At night they had some live entertainment which at this time was two guys doing some acoustical guitar playing. Nice job too. I’m am a musician too, so I can appreciate what they did. The other is more of a dining area with seating both inside and out. Great spot for sunset dining. Although we ate at some of the surrounding restaurants, the food we did have at the hotel was very good. The breakfast buffet was fulfilling and a chef made your waffles and omelets to order. Very good! The hostess, a pretty woman with a long braid, was always cheerful and had greeted everyone with something nice to say and a big smile. The waiters couldn’t do enough for you.

Finally, the hotel staff. They were great. Anything we needed or thought could have been better was taken care of very quickly and professionally. Never were our requests taken anything less than serious. Everyone we came in contact with were very friendly and courteous. Having been in management for 20yrs, I know that the success of this hotel is a reflection of the manager. The one here was top notch and an asset to the company.

Would we recommend this place? Would we come back? I’d live here if I could. Enough said.

Because of the previous reviews of this property, we expected a subquality stay. It couldn't be further from the truth! The service was excellent. When we asked for a rollaway in our room with extra pillows, it was waiting for us when we arrived. When I left a note at the front desk to give us a table for the balcony (which by the way, has a great view of the bay), it was waiting for us when we came back from breakfast. We needed toothpaste and it was delivered.

The sunsets were unbelievable and the parking was accessible to the rooms which was a bonus. The only negative is that the restaurant is in front of the property which blocked some of the view of the bay.

“Enjoyed stay at the marriott key largo”

We stayed for one week in March and my husband and i both liked the property. Sure it is like most people say not a fancy resort but it is nice and the service was great and very friendly.
We had a beautiful bay view room and i am sure that made a difference. Would recommend to book a bay view room. The restaurant was good, also i have to say that with all the other options we ate only twice there. It was so much fun to try different places every night. Our favorite was "snappers" and "marker 88" both had great food, atmosphere and service. The only place we really did not like was the "bayside grill" did not care for the food and atmosphere. The service was okay.
The Tiki Bar at the marriott was fun and they had live entertainment on some nights. We were not impressed with the diving. We are both certified diver and so far we dove at serveral destinations in the caribbean and it did not compare to that.
One day we drove to key west and as much fun as it was, we both were happy to go back to key largo and the more relaxed kind of style there.

“Great Stay”

Marriott Key Largo Bay Beach Resort

15 Mar 2008

The room was very clean and nice with a view of the bay and the sunset was beautiful. The beds were very high, and there was a shower only in our room. The pool was clean and heated and there was a bar poolside. We had a great lunch at Gus'. You can go snorkeling or diving through "It's A Dive" located on the grounds. It was very convenient and wetsuits and prescription masks and other gear was included in the price. The crew were very nice and helpful. They also had waverunners to rent. There was a beach, although it was small, and you could relax on the hammocks that are scattered across the grounds. I would highly recommend The Fish House, Key Largo Conch House, Hobo's and Marley's for meals. We had no problems at the Marriott and I would stay at the hotel again.

The good:

Rooms were very clean! Service seemed very good.
When I arrived I was expecting mediocre at best but I was suprised that the grounds were very nice.

This was a short two night stay. My wife and two daughters age 3 and 7.

Pool was nice as well as the make shift beach. The keys are not noted for their beaches. I say this with confidence I live roughly 1 hour north of the hotel.
We have some of the nicest beaches around just not in the keys.

The bad:
No belhop-I brought all our luggage up to our room. Not terrible
but thought you should know.

my wife and I heard everything at night, very noisy.
The walls are thin- you will also hear a ton in the halls.

Otherwise a nice centrally located place to stay.
Yes, there are better places but for the price this was a good bargain. Check priceline before you book with them. There are deals to be had!
Good place to eat-Great all you can eat stonecrabs- BALLYHOOS-roughly 6 miles west on route 1 from hotel.
Steer clear of Hobos- Not good bar food.

if you want more info on places to eat and see email me:
