The place looks nothing like it does in pictures. In order to rent a movie..you must put a $50 deposit down for a DVD player...then they tell you to drive to Blockbuster! Not a normal marriott. No one to carry your luggage or even help. Self park only and the parking is horrid. The pool and bar is dirty... the beach area is about 70ft long and the sand feels like mud. Beach is also dirty. oh, and the elevators "close down" at 11 P.M. WHAaaa??? NOT RECCOMENDED...and PS..I love marriotts.

this is the worst one I have EVER been to.

This is a great hotel to stay at compared to the others in the area, although a little pricy. We paid $469 a night (spring break) for a room with an "island view" which consisted of some trees blocking the view of a trailer home area. Water view rooms were more. I definitely wouldn't pay for a lesser view because you would just be looking at the brick wall of the main lobby with no where to sit outside your room. All of the other rooms at least have a private balcony.

The hotel staff was friendly and always helpful. At the pool there was always staff walking around either offering to get you food or drink or just asking how your stay was going and if you needed anything.

The pool was warm and the beach area was quite nice considering there really are no beaches in the area.

My only negative would be food on the property. The bar/lounge and tiki bar both have the same menu which is very small. Basically hamburgers, hot dogs and such. The food was good but if staying more than a day or two, you can get very tired of eating the same options every day.

The restaurant on the property was very high end for prices. Even breakfast began at $10 and went up from there. We decided to pass on breakfast and did try the restaurant one night for dinner. The food was good but nothing to brag about and the servings were small. There also wasn't many options, especially if you don't like sea food. We found much better restaurants to eat at outside of the property.

It's a great place if you have small kids. There is a small game room and they had people set up every day at a small hut where there were all sorts of craft activities. They also had someone available for hair braiding.

There is a lot of restaurant options in the area and even a full grocery store (Publix) just a couple miles down the road.

We had a weekend in Florida and wanted to get away to the Keys. We chose Key Largo because it was the closest to where we were coming from, although Key Largo itself isn't that appealing. There are a lot of strip malls and can feel very commerical. We stayed at the Marriott because it has a small beach and a pool, and it was easy to get to. We were also able to get it for half off the normal price through Priceline. The room was immaculate and modern, although a bit small. The pool and hot tub were nice, and so was the beach, although it too was small (typcial for the Keys). We had no complaints staying there, although we would have been upset with the accomodations had we payed the full price of roughly 300 for the night. The bar on the premises was alright, but if you want to go anywhere else, you really have to drive.

“This Is The Place To Stay.”

If you're looking for one of if not the best place to stay in Largo, this is it. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and very clean. A very nice pool area and a beach, a real beach actually, are equally nice and maintained. While we were there, a storm blew through with some pretty high winds. The grounds were cleaned up just as soon as the weather calmed down. There’s also docking for boats.

The interior, just as nice. The rooms, at least the one we had, are very big, have comfy beds and nicely decorated. They were nicely cleaned everyday and in a timely manner. Any problems, or should I say, wants, were taken care of quickly. Same goes for the halls, elevators, and parking lot all of which were very clean. There’s plenty of on sight parking with most of it under the building. It’s a little tight, but sufficient, so leave the limos home. A good amount of handicap spots and the whole grounds are very accessible by the way. Plenty of elevators, ramps, bridges, and paved areas.

The hotel has it’s own dining areas. One is like a Tiki bar type of atmosphere. At night they had some live entertainment which at this time was two guys doing some acoustical guitar playing. Nice job too. I’m am a musician too, so I can appreciate what they did. The other is more of a dining area with seating both inside and out. Great spot for sunset dining. Although we ate at some of the surrounding restaurants, the food we did have at the hotel was very good. The breakfast buffet was fulfilling and a chef made your waffles and omelets to order. Very good! The hostess, a pretty woman with a long braid, was always cheerful and had greeted everyone with something nice to say and a big smile. The waiters couldn’t do enough for you.

Finally, the hotel staff. They were great. Anything we needed or thought could have been better was taken care of very quickly and professionally. Never were our requests taken anything less than serious. Everyone we came in contact with were very friendly and courteous. Having been in management for 20yrs, I know that the success of this hotel is a reflection of the manager. The one here was top notch and an asset to the company.

Would we recommend this place? Would we come back? I’d live here if I could. Enough said.

Because of the previous reviews of this property, we expected a subquality stay. It couldn't be further from the truth! The service was excellent. When we asked for a rollaway in our room with extra pillows, it was waiting for us when we arrived. When I left a note at the front desk to give us a table for the balcony (which by the way, has a great view of the bay), it was waiting for us when we came back from breakfast. We needed toothpaste and it was delivered.

The sunsets were unbelievable and the parking was accessible to the rooms which was a bonus. The only negative is that the restaurant is in front of the property which blocked some of the view of the bay.
