We stayed at Largo Lodge for six nights in a beach front room. The room was a little small, but met our needs. The grounds of Largo Lodge are green and lush. The "beach" area clean, well equipped with plenty of good quality loungers and chairs. The view of the sunset from the dock is very special.
The office staff are friendly and helpful. The manager goes out of his way to make sure you are happy and the owner has created a place to be proud of.
The only problem we have with Largo Lodge is we don't get how the housekeeping works. All that happens is the cleaner makes the bed. The floor doesn't get swept and the bathroom doesn't get cleaned, but the towels get changed if you ask. This is probably OK if you stay for two nights but by night six the floor was gritty and the enamelware in the bathroom needed a clean. There was no cleaning equipment provided to do-it-youself, but the maid obviously didn't see it as her job. Get the housekeeping right, either the hotel do it or the guests do, adjust the price accordingly and you are close to a five dot rating.
