“Great Time at the Seascape”

We stayed for two nights at the Seacape Tropical Inn in February. I believe all of the rooms at this B&B are different and we had the Havana Suite.

The Havana Suite had a separate entrance and was more like an apartment than a hotel room. The Havana Suite was set up like a loft apartment with the bed above the living room/kitchen area. There was a spiral staircase that connected the floors. We loved the spaciousness of the room and it was a great place to relax after a busy day in Key West.

Our only complaint about the room was the bathroom. The bathroom did not have a tub, only a small stand up shower that kind of was clausterphobic.

The location of this inn is excellent. Right in the middle of the old town one block from the intersection of Duval and Truman. It is about 8 to 10 blocks from Mallory Square and 4 to 5 blocks from the Southernmost point marker.

Parking is a little bit of a hassle. There is no dedicated parking lot for this hotel except for one space meant for checking in. When we arrived, there was no parking anywhere near the hotel on the street. The check in clerk was extremely nice in letting us park in the one spot next to the house usually reserved for checking in. Fortunately, a spot opened up on the street about a hour later and we didn't have to worry about our car for the rest of the stay. You won't need your car to get around Key West. You can easily walk to any of the tourist sites in Old Town but you can also rent bikes form the hotel as well.

Finally, the staff at this inn was extremely friendly. When we arrived, they went out of their way to welcome us and give us an overview of where everything was and what to do in Key West. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this Inn.

If you are looking for a B & B in the heart of Old Key West AND ....you dont plan on spending a lot of time in your room.... then this is the place to stay.
The location is great. KoKo the manager does everything possible to make your stay in Key West a warm & pleasant experience. We rode bikes (available at Seascape) during the day to see all the sights and later on at night we walked to Duval street to enjoy the night life. The room itself was....OK. The breakfast that is included was nothing special, however appreciated. Thank you KoKo for being a great host ,we hope to stay at Seascape on a return visit to Key West!

No need to look any further when looking for a great place to stay in Key West, regardless of your age or reasons for travel. My husband and two of our twenty-something friends and I all stayed in the Seascape for 5 nights during New Years in Key West. Koko and Beth went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The 4 cold Coronas in the fridge definitely helped us cool off after our drive down from Ft. Lauderdale. The location is fantastic, right off Duval and ideal because if you like to go out and party (as we did every night) you can easily walk to all of the nightlife and bars, but also wonderful because it is situation just beyond all of them so that you can sleep peacefully without a lot of noise. We stayed in the Havana Suite, which was perfect for four and beautifully decorated with amazing stained glass windows. The pool is great for relaxing and you are within walking distance to the Southernmost Beach. I highly recommend renting bikes at least one day...you can see so much of the island easily. When we rented (the Seascape has the bikes for rental for $12.00 a day) we saw so much amazing stuff, including a crane that walked right out of the bushes in front of us. It was magical. Also, check out Opera, an amazing high-end but not fussy dinner place off Duval. The owner does such a great job making you feel special. The only words of caution I have are #1) DO NOT RENT BOATS FROM GALLEON BOAT RENTAL off of the pier. They were complete jerks to us and treated us in such a rude way that we decided not to go out even though we really wanted to. They also told us we would have 3 hours for $200 on the phone, and when we arrived it suddenly turned into 2 hours for $250. What I scam. Please visit Salsa Loca and try their amazing salsa. Thank you Koko...We will miss the beautiful place and will hopefully be back sometime this year. Say hello to Charlie, Fang, and especially to Fred for us. We will miss them!!! :)

My husband and I stayed at the Seascape in October. It was the perfect place! There were cold beers in the fridge waiting in our room and Koko was an absolute doll. He recommended restaurants for us and even made the reservations for us. We went to a tapas restaurant that was off the beaten path called Santiago's and it was unbelivably delicious. When they found out that it was our 10th anniversary we came home from dinner to find a bottle of champagne in our room!! The room was spotless and it was very relaxing to sit up on the patio and read during the day. The breakfast in the morning was fantastic with a wide variety of food and mimosas too. We had lunch at a place called Salsa Loca and it was a relaxed little gem with personable service and excellent food. We went on a sunset sail called "Wine and Wind" and it was a great experience. I would return to the Seascape and would recommend it as a great get away that is close to the action of Key West.

“We'll Be Back!!”

Seascape Tropical Inn

19 Dec 2007

All email communication with Seascape Tropical Inn was responded to quickly and with complete information. Travel directions were especially appreciated. When we arrived, we were greeted like old friends by Koko, the gracious manager, even though this was our first visit. He showed us around, introduced us to the cats, provided written and verbal info to make our visit a success and immediately made us feel welcome. Our room, the Front Room, was spacious, had all the promised amenities and was sparkling clean. The inn is located 1/2 block off Duval Street which is filled with restaurants, bars, shops and fun; and was within easy walking distance of Mallory Square, Hemingway House, the Key West Cemetery and more. Bicycles are available for rent, there is a spa located in a garden setting, and breakfast was excellent. We will definitely stay at the Seascape Tropical Inn when we return to Key West - not only because of the complimentary key lime pie that awaits returning guests, but because it will be like coming home to family.
