I found Blue Eyed Trader on Trip Advisor and decided to give Captain Ron a call. I went to Key West to get married and my new wife and I decided to take a charter the next day. I was a little worried because my wife can get severe motion sickness. Captain Ron said he would take her back to shore if she got sick. We opted for the 3/4 day trip. It was a pretty choppy day and my wife was doing OK until we got about eight miles out and then she got really sick (even though she had taken motion sickness medicine all week). Just like he said, Captian Ron brought her all the way back and dropped her off at a pier near our hotel. He then took me back out for the rest of the day. Captain Ron really knows how to fish. He gets the best bait and does not skimp on chum. He also knows the best spots. This just about guarantees that you will catch a lot of fish. I told Captain Ron that I wanted some good eating fish, but also wanted to after some bigger fish. Captain Ron took me to a spot for some great snapper and then we also caught some much larger fish (Amber Jack, Grouper, and King Mackeral). Several of these fish were among the largest that I had ever caught in my life. First Mate Chris is super efficient and professional and runs his own outfit in Missouri for fly fishing. Given that I was the only customer on the boat, I had literally non-stop fishing action. I was reeling so much that I got a blister on my finger. Captain Ron is super passionate about fishing and he will tell you how to do it right. I have been fishing my whole life, but he told me some great tips for ocean fish, like a secret way to get big groupers out of the rocks (and it actually worked). Captain Ron ended up giving me some extra time because we had to take my wide back and he cleaned all the fish when we got back. He is very fun and great all-around guy. His boat, the Blue Eyed Trader is ideal for fishing. It is large enough, comfortable and even has a bath room. I would recommend this charter to anyone and I literally cannot wait to go back down with some fishing buddies (sorry wife) and do this again. As an aside, I highly recommend taking your fish to Azur restaurant. They will prepare them fresh and chef Michael is about as good as it gets (and I have eaten at the best restaurants all around the world). I caught so much fish with Captain Ron that we ate fish nearly every night in Key West and still took a huge cooler full of filets home with us.

Thanks so much for the great review. I'm sorry your wife wasn't able to stay out but we had a great day anyway. How nice is it for us to have just one person to cater to. Every fish is yours, as you attested to the blisters. We look forward to your next visit. Congratulations on the nuptials.
