We've been visiting Key West off and on for about 20 years. We had been too long away, so we headed back down this month, with reservations at the Old Town Manor. We've stayed here on almost every trip, but it had new owners and a new name since our last trip, so we didn't know quite what to expect. We didn't need to worry. The same charm and comforts were still there, along with an excellent continental breakfast every morning.
The hot tub is now a koi pond, otherwise there seemed to have been very few changes. For us, it's the perfect spot. Located only a 1/2 block from Duval, the peaceful backyard courtyard is the perfect place to read, relax and recharge batteries before heading back out to the Key West craziness. They are parking space - challenged, but since we never use our car while we're in KW, that's not an issue for us.
Between us and other family members, I think we've stayed in about all of their dozen rooms or so. This time, we opted for a king bed in the Eaton Room. It offers quick access to the second floor veranda overlooking St. Paul's Cathedral, along with a glimpse of Duval. That was our favorite spot to wind down in the evening.
Would we stay there again? We would not consider anywhere else.
