Jasmine House is totally charming, stayed in the porchside bedrooms and they were perfect. The location couldn't be better--did not move the car for the entire stay.

Dennis, the manager who lives on the location, was accomodating and fun!

The Inn is lovingly cared for and I will return. Tried to book for Halloween but no such luck-full.

“Cute, Clean but Economical”

Jasmine House

29 Mar 2006

This inn is in a perfect location and is very clean. Also, the beds are very comfortable. However, it feels like you are staying in economical accommodations...so when you go during season and pay $150/night, it doesn't really feel worth it. There are a total of 3 rooms. The back room is their suite which has a jacuzzi, a bigger bedroom, living room area, kitchenette and a normal size bathroom. The bathrooms in the other 2 rooms are smaller than you would find in a cruise ship. You have to have a sense of humor about it. This is a great place to stay for 2-nights since it's comfortable and clean. But, I would consider going elsewhere if you're staying longer than that.

“Great time had by all”

Spent Jan 12-Jan 16, 2006 with two other couples at Jasmine house. It was great. We each had our own bedroom and bathroom. We had the entire downstairs of this charming cottage. The back deck was awesome the hottub and hammock were perfert for relaxing. We also had a grill to cook the fresh fish we caught from the morning fishing trip.
The place was very clean and the innkeeper Dennis was very nice and prompt each day.
Best part it is only 1/2 block from all the action, but our St. was quiet. Would stay here again.

We stayed at the Jasmine House in mid January of 2006. There were six of us and we all were EXTREMELY pleased. I have to admit I was a little leary of staying at a place that I merely saw through pictures on the internet especially after the many hurricanes that plagued the area. However I can assure you that it was well beyond what we had imagined.
First off it is very difficult to find a reasonably priced house/cottage that has three bedrooms equipped with a bathroom for EACH room. The bathrooms in the front two bedrooms were smaller then the honeymoon room however it surely beats having to share a "community" bathroom with two other couples. Each bedroom was extremely comfortable and had plenty of space for your personables. Each bedroom was equipped with a TV and the front two with small refridgerators and a/c units. Again.. all suited to our needs!
The porch was adorable. Even though the "swing" was missing (and we were told it was being repaired by the innkeeper) they had two other charming chairs replacing it. I in fact enjoyed sipping a margarita and enjoying the night air out front on the adorable patterned tile flooring.
The decor of the place was adorable. We found no evidence of poor quality or taste.
Our favorite was the back porch/deck area with the jacquzzi. Not only did it have comfortable seating but the lush palm greenery that surrounded it made it a welcoming retreat when Duval Street became a little overwhelming.
The innkeeper was fine. Very prompt and accomadating.
The Jasmine House location was PRIME for all of us. Its about a block from Duval Street - far enough to not hear the noise and commotion yet close enough to stumble home. Its also about 3 blocks from the city beach which comes equipped with the rental of chairs and a place to eat/drink. CVS is only a block 1/2 away in addition to many of the great places to eat.
Four of us have traveled to Key West a few times before and we would certainly say that the Jasmine House is a place we would definitely stay again. Thanks again for a WONDERFUL time!

“Beware staying in the Porchside Bedroom”

Jasmine House

Read all the rave reviews and stayed at the Jasmine House over New Years 05/06. Paid $250 per night for a terrible studio in the front of the house. The gracious innkeeper toured us to the other rooms (honeymoon, back suite and upstairs) which were all good. This was not the case for the front room we stayed 3 nights in. The price for this unit should never exceed $100 even on holiday. Here were the highlights:
- No closet (hangers hanging under the TV and above the mini-fridge made it ugly to view our clothes and a hinderance when getting in the refrigerator)
- Small Closet converted in to a bathroom (the depth of the bathroom and shower is from my finger to shoulder, tiny tiny sink, toilet overflowed, knob on closet door wouldn't allow it to close from inside the bathroom.
- decorations were poor (above the bed was a dried rose in a picture frame which was falling apart; one lamp shade was scotch-taped together, torn with burnt edges; closet bathroom trim and fixtures were low grade garage sale quality as was all other room amenities)
- hard bed and lumpy pillows
- cheap & thin plastic blinds made it impossible to keep out the sun at 7am.
- Porch swing falling apart (could only sit on 1/2 the swing since the other half of the mesh swing looked like a dog or cat had been chewing at the seat of it for awhile
- It bears mentioning that the Keys and Florida are DESIMATED by hurricane Wilma still in Jan '06. KW foliage is about 50% brown/gray and Lots of appliances in streets and alleys. Might be fine after at least 1 growing season.

Good? The innkeeper was great. Prompt and courteous. The location is 1 block off Duval street (but no view and not the best neighborhood as compared to other Inn's and B&B's on Key West)

I vacation heavily (at least 2x's per month) and have to say this is the most expensive and least desired room I've ever stayed in. Such a disappointment because I very much liked the innkeeper and all the reviews on this place.
