This was our 3rd time staying at Alexander's. We keep going back for 2 reasons: great staff & service, and great, friendly people staying there. We really enjoy the 2 hour happy hour each night - the bartenders are great and you will meet many people from all over the world. The only thing I still don't understand is why you have to pay for beer, but hard liquer is free?

Breakfast is always nice, and this year they were cooking eggs in the mornings. We don't eat eggs, but for those that do you will be very happy with this bonus. They do go out of the way to please, as we mentioned one day that whole grain bread would be nice in the morning, and the next morning they had a nice loaf of heathly whole grain bread.

As for the bars in Key west - they are as much fun as ever and getting to them is an easy 10 minute walk. Coming home you can either catch a cab or have one of the bicycle cabs bring you back (an adventure for sure).

Also, a special thank you to the staff for a room upgrade - they had a better room open and as we were returning prebooked customers they upgraded us. We were there for a total of 10 days - room 14 - right by the hot tub. GREAT room, and late night dips in the hot tub are just a step out the door.

rooms are decorated with style, bathroom is very clean, staff is very friendly and kind. Breakfast is excellent.
You meet lovely people to talk with around the pool during the happy hour cocktail. We spent 3 nights and will definitively come back. Excellent place to relax and tanning on the sun deck!

After reading all the glowing reviews I booked directly w/ Alexander's for visit on 1/27-1/31/08. Immediately the staff was very accommodating as they normally had a minimum night stay (we stayed for 3 nights) but they waived it (booking was made in early Nov), provided directions and noted to drive the speed limit once in the Keys (encountered many state troopers looking for fast tourists).
Upon arrival we knew that previous guests did not exaggerate. This place is gorgeous (I could live there), the staff was incredible (hey Phillipe & Matt), the free happy hour was a must every night as bartender Steve, made us feel welcomed and we had way too much fun with him and the other guests (some of whom we went to dinner and cocktails later -- hey John & Ben from Scotland!).
The free breakfast was also an extra treat (muffins, bagels, pastries, juices, coffee) as we sat poolside chatting w/ guests. We spent most of our time at the Alexander as we didn't want to leave it.

We stayed in cabin #15, which is on the second level in a 2-unit cottage above the jacuzzi -- like I said, I could live there (see my photos). This was my first trip to KW and can't wait to go back (so I can stay at Alexander's again)!

I went to Alexander's with my husband for my 40th birthday. We had a great time. I loved it. Our room was very nice and clean, the breakfast was good, the happy hour was a lot of fun, and the property is beautiful. The best part of staying there is the people! We liked everyone who works there, and everyone who stayed there while we were there. It was a wonderful birthday and vacation. This was the forth time we went to Key West, but the first time we stayed at Alexander's. The next time we go to Key West we will stay at Alexander's again.
