For years, Ambrosia was a little hidden gem of a restaurant, tucked away on a little side street in a quiet neighborhood; a special little secret for locals and in the know tourists. The decor was funky, if existent at all, but the sushi - especially the signature Playmate Roll was off the charts. As the years went by, word got out about this spectacular little sushi bar and demand forced them to leave their quiet confines in search of a new space. Now located at the end of Simonton, next to the Reach Hotel, Ambrosia finally has a room as magnificent as their food. In addition to typical sushi fare (eel, tuna, salmon, etc...) Ambrosia has a number of unique sushi creations involving fresh caught local seafood (such as lobster, stone crab, and yellowtail), as well as the above mentioned deep-fried piece of heaven that is the one and only Playmate Roll. If you like sushi, you'll fall in love with Ambrosia.

My wife and I dined here today for lunch. We both had the daily special - a Bento Box with a delicious and very large assortment of teryaki chicken, sushi roll (8 pieces) of cooked shrimp, avacado, + cucumber and two large shrimp and veggie temupra, along with all of the typical Japanese salad accompanyment s- all for $16.00 each! The quality of the food was top notch and the quantity was enough for two lunches or dinners. We took 1/2 home for another meal. We felt that this one one of our best meals in Key West during this month long trip.

Same great food as always but in a beautiful new space! There were some interesting new rolls and specials. The service needs to come up a notch or two though!

Fabulous food, but slow service. It was great to find this restaurant. The food was excellent, but the service was quite slow. It is best to book in advance as its very popular and heaving with hungry customers! If you like Japanese, you will love this. Great interior design and located close to South Beach. Enjoy.
