“Great for what it is...a 50's motel”

We stayed overnight at the Islamorada Motel in late Feb 2008. We only needed a bed to sleep on the way to Key West. It was clean, comfortable, and inexpensive. The staff (the owners brother) was friendly, loaded with local knowledge, and just down-right homey. Just a good old boy who seemed like he was from the Carolinas somewhere...but he wasn't. NO BEACH, NO POOL, NO BREAKFAST...but they can recommend someplace!

If you just need a place to sleep before you go diving, or a place to crash on the way to Key West...highly recommend!

We went to Islamorada to fish for Father's Day and we stayed in the Islamorada Motel. The staff was very friendly, and the accomodations were clean and comfortable. We needed friendly advise about night fishing and we got it. We joked with the staff about "NO BEACH NO POOL." She just wants to be sure someone isn't misled or disappointed. We were there for the fishing, and had a nice kitchen, clean and comfortable bed in a great location. This is Key vacationing as is should be and the price was right. The A/C was cool the staff very helpful. Don't hesitate to stay at this hotel if you are stopping in Islamorada to dive or fish, it's the Keys atmosphere were all looking for anyway right?
