The staff is nice but the rooms are average for a third world country. The docks are under construction so limited docking. Pool is o.k. but very old. If you are not very picky you can get a good discount until they renovate the rooms.

Business service (e.g., internet access)La Siesta is the best!! I was there for a wedding. I was a little leary of the place based on the website, but the bride wanted everyone to stay at the same place. Once I got there I knew I was in paradise! Most of the wedding functions were held right there at the big house on the property. It was a great meeting place for everyone to get together and hang out. This place was perfect for families and the bunch of 20 somethings in the crowd. There's a pool, kayaks, bikes...tons of stuff to do. We took a couple fishing trips and did some snorkeling. Everyone had a blast! there were several delicious restaurants close by. Laurel-lei, Pierre's, Islamorada fish co, and Mangrove Mikes were a few of our favorites. As for the rooms...I've stayed in the Keys several times and La Siesta is now one of my favorites. Yes, the decor is dated, but most of the rooms have a great view. The rooms I saw were big and clean. We barely spent any of our time in the rooms anyway. If you are looking for pricey elegance this is not the place for you. For the price though, La Siesta is pretty unbeatable. This is a great place for a relaxing, memorable vacation with friends and family.

We had a great time. We stayed there two years ago for 2 (two) nights, had easy access to the pool and the beach. The staff was pleasant, the price was fair, and it was not as far as Key West. I would go back there anytime, and I have recommended friends and family alike to go there. When we go to a hotel in the keys, we look for convienence, quiet , easy access to the local sights and sunshine, and we had all we were looking for. In reading the other reviews, one has to remember-you can't keep 'em all happy all of the time. As for my authenticity in writing a review, at the oresent time my wife and her two best friends are there now.
This was our 7th stay of over a week at La Siesta. We made our reservation 11 months in advance. The first six we loved. The 7th was a nightmare. The dockage was in poor repair (due to storm damage). We were assigned a boat slip that was dry at low tide. They said that there were no other slips available. We meet a family that was leaving 4 days early and asked the Manager if we could use that slip. We were told that was going to be used by long time clients. I guess 7 times was not enough. The slip sat empty for 3 days and was then given to a walk up. To make matters worse we had an emailed confirmation of the boat slip we were to get. The Manager stated that they did not preassign boat slips. He accused my wife of forging it, which nearly led to a physical confrontation. At least on my part. The Manager was off a few days. Surprisingly things got better, the staff "found" us a boat slip. The shame of it all is that we loved this place. But this experience has soured us on it. As you can tell, after two years I haven't gotten over it. I write this now because I was reding other post and noticed that the Manager mentioned has the same first name. Luckily the fishing was great.
