We stayed here the week of 3/24/12 in 9-702B. Nice room with a good view of the pool versus the parking lot. It's a 1 bedroom suite that was not updated to the granite kitchen and other amentities. But, it was fully functional with a convention oven/microwave. Had a 2 burner hotplate. No dishwasher. It did have a washer and dryer stand up unit which was nice. We were at swimming pool #3 and that is the only one that closes at 10pm. The others close at 11pm. No one could tell us why, but it was no big deal because we knew it and could go to the other pools that were not far away anyhow. Hot tubs were warm but not hot like I like them due to the children (which is fine). They were very clean along w/the pools.
-Room was very clean and had plenty of room
-Very nice laylout and very clean grounds, pool, and spa!
-Used the BBQ grills a few time to cook fresh seafood we got in Cocoa Beach. Great system-You check out the utensils with a key and lighter for 3 hours and you do not need to buy charcoal as it is gas. Lobster tails and crab were awesome from Seafood Atlantic Co in Cape Canaveral.on Glen Cheek Drive. The guys in there are extremely friendly and helpful. They butterflied our tails and they cooked up perfectly. It is only an hour drive via 528 (toll road ~$4 each way).
-Full fridge and freezer in the B unit
-We were scheduled for mid-week cleaning on Wed and it never happened. We called and asked them to send up some TP, paper towel, and towels and they said it would be right there and that never happended. They said they would schedule our cleaning for the next day (Thurs), but that never happened either. Luckily, we had been talking with one of the staff on a daily basis and he hooked us up with supplies and towels.
-Wait time for check in was long on Sat at around 7pm. But, this is peak time and we completly understand.
-We had problems with the heating/cooling system. Much colder than the temp setting you choose.
-Bed in the room was a twin or a double. Short of a queen and it was too close for comfort for two adults.
-To get your parking permit, you must go over to another counter where the timeshare pitch is in play. You can decline, but we did not to get an $80 visa card and breakfast on Mon. Breakfast was at a Cuban place in Celebration, FL and was nice. You have to give them a $20 deposit that they return after the timeshared deal plus whatever "gift" you request. They will not give you a firm time on how long it will take. It was about 3.5 hours and the price went from 21,900 to 4,499 at the end. I just wanted to tell the other folks to run away! I educated our salesperson (who was really nice but really new-1.5 months) on the RCI process and such. I really enjoy calling them on their claims of RCI and trading. We did not buy, obviously.
-There is a Publix less than a mile (on 192) to the east of the resort to stock up.
-All of Disney properties are within 5 minutes of resort.
-March is not the time to go to the parks. Wait times reach over 2 hours a ride for the main attractions at peak times. We went to Epcot on Fri and went on 4 rides (Soarin, Mission Space, GM Test Track, and Sum of all Thrills in the Innovention builiding) and it took 4 hours first thing in the morning w/a fastpass to the GM ride. There is an app for both disney and universal that will show you the wait times (Phunware).
-But, we knew this and really just went to hang out and relax at the resort.

Thank you so much for your detailed review on Vacation Village at Parkway Resort. Your comments will surely help others with their vacation plans as well as assist us in recognizing and correct issues in our service. Cleaning is normally scheduled on the fourth day of arrival. We apologize that your room did not receive housekeeping services during your stay. It is possible you had a Do Not Disturb Sign on your door, or we could have just plain missed the room on the schedule. Also the tour you described is no different than any other sales negotiation that markets significant purchases in a lifetime. Price quotes are associated with various inventory and usage options so they can fluctuate. Even though we were not able to meet all of your expectations during your time with us we are thankful that we were able to provide you with a great a vacation experience. We hope that we may be able to share our hospitality with you and your family again the next time you visit Orlando.
