We stayed at the Liki Tiki resort over the week of July 4th. The location was good if you are familiar with Kissimmee- it was our first time not staying in Orlando. We were close to grocery stores and Walmart and only about 6-7 miles from Magic Kingdom. Keep in mind that this distance takes about 45 minutes each way during the peak hours, particularly after the parks close. I wouldn't let this be a deterrent, however.
The check in process was remarkably easy. As other reviewers have reported, you are sent across to another desk to get your "Welcome Package" and try to schedule a timeshare meeting. I explained that I already owned a timeshare and wasn't interested, and the pressure subsided. One thing to note was that the wireless code I was given only provided access for one device- and as I was traveling with 5 children and multiple wifi defices, we ultimately had to get 2 additional codes. One employee wasn't too excited to give me additional codes, but a manager stepped right in to remedy the situation.
We stayed in building 1300, one of the reported newer buildings across the parking lot from the water park. It backed up to trees and had a great screened porch- we loved it! The unit was very clean- but we had to request additional towels and linens for the pull out couch to accomodate the number of people staying in the unit (3 adults and 5 kids). There was plenty of room for all of us- 3 separate flat screen TV's, and plenty of dishes, glasses, pots/pans etc. We had breakfast each morning in our room, a couple of lunches and dinners, and we had all of the equipment we needed- just like home. Per the resort's recommendation, we ordered Flippers pizza that delivers right to your room on 2 nights- it was AMAZING! Highly recommended!!
The water park was GREAT for my kids, ages 5-9. We spent 2 full days on property enjoying this water park, one of the other pools and the paddleboats. We never ate at the bar/grill, but it looked like fun! The kids all got balloon animals one afternoon in the lobby, and there is a nice gift shop on property as well. The 24 hour guarded gate provided security, and all of the people on vacation seemed to be having a good time.
We had an issue on our last morning with checkout as the cleaning service continued to knock on our doors prior to checkout time (10am) and even entered the unit while we were in there! We were not happy at all- When I explained what happened to the front desk, they were very apologetic and noted that they use a third party cleaning service and would discuss this breach with them.
Overall, this was a great place to come with kids. We were close enough to the Disney Parks and also enjoyed on property amenities. I own a timeshare at the Vistana Resort- so while this resort may not evenly compare in aesthetics (Vistana units are more modern), the service, value and pools made it a great choice for us. Enjoy your vacation!
Buildings 1200 and 1300 are newer, 500,600 and 700 border the water park.

What a wonderful review! Thank you very much for taking the time to share your thoughts on our resort with the rest of the world. The week of July 4th was a fun one; we are happy you choose to spend it here with us. Sounds like you had a big gathering and we are glad to read they all had a good time. You did have a few issues, which we apologize for. The third-party cleaning crew that entered your unit before check-out probably was not well-versed in the policies that our in-house housekeeping team uses. We only use third-party cleaning crews during busy weeks such as the week you were with us. We will work with them going forward by training them more diligently in the service policies we use, such as verifying guest room statues before entering. Also, the issue with the Wi-Fi codes has been resolved; we now offer Wi-Fi codes that are valid for multiple devices, and for longer lengths of times. Regardless, any guest should have no issue going to the Front Desk to request any additional codes, should their reservation be valid for such. All-in-all though it seems like you guys had an enjoyable time here at Liki Tiki Village and just wanted to share it with tripadvisor. We thank you again for doing this, and would love it if you came a stayed with us again.
